We booked this place due to good reviews, price and location. However we were very disappointed. Positive: nice staffs, good location Negative: very poor wifi. Poor shower (not enough pressure). Bad acoustics (one morning, we heard a couple wresting 😜). And the worst is the toilet and bathroom sink; when you flush the toilet, water with poo comes out the...

If you are on a budget and want a safe, quiet, conveniently located, central place to stay for a few days this is a great choice. It is very basic with mostly shared bathrooms and some with very small private shower rooms. I chose a private bathroom, but was disappointed on arrival to find it was a shower room, a...

The hotel is at superb location. 10-15 minutes walk to Stephansdom, less than 5 minutes walk to the closest train station (Schottenring) or to airport bus stop. One Hofer super market is just at the front door. You will find a nice room, cozy, very clean, comfortable. Klaus, the manager, was very kind, welcome and helpful. He gave us advices...

My friend and I stayed at Schweizer Pension for three nights at the tail end of two weeks or Europe, and it was definitely one of the best places we stayed. We realized that our train was going to be arriving a couple hours after check-in time, and emailed the location, and received a response that they were more than...

I had a very enjoyable stay at Schweizer Pension. The staff was warm and friendly. The room had big windows with lots of natural light and was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The neighborhood is on the quiet side, but there are some restaurants a couple of blocks away and it is an easy walk into the historic center.

When looking for a place to stay for my weekend in Vienna, I first check Airbnb, but there wasn't much places available in the center of Vienna. I've found this typical pension in the center. It felt authentic ! The mister running it was very welcoming and friendly. The room we had was sunny and spacious. For more comfort we...

The staff is very really good and nice, they gave us all informations we need about the city. Also, the room was so clean and the emplacement of the hotel is perfect. Toilets and bathroom were shared but very very clean. Thanks for your welcoming, I recommend it :)

We just spent 9 days at the Schweitzer Pension and certainly will return. It is a great value for a traveller who prizes an authentic local experience. The owners insist that every detail of the stay is perfect. The location is within walking distance of every part of the Vienna Old Town. This is not a fancy hotel that many...

Great hotel - I stayed here for 5 nights on a recent visit to Vienna and will gladly come back. The owners are very sweet, informative, and accommodating. The daily breakfast was very generous and delicious. The pension itself is very cozy and authentic. If you're looking for 5 star luxury accommodations, look elsewhere. But if you're looking to feel...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
