An alright location at least close to U Bahn and airport link. Room was decent size but while there was complimentary coffee/tea always available in the lobby (which is great) no coffee pot in the room which seemed weird. Beds were hard as rock with 2 flimsy pillows. Probably would not chose again but no real regrets. Staff was pleasant...

We got a room on top floor(room 503) which was really small and it was actually 3/4th room. Carpet was faded. The only plus point was its location because Rathaus was on 2min walk and metro station as well.

A good welcome by staff on duty. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Well sited near Rathaus and underground. Coffee & tea available 24/7 in the lounge area, a pleasant area to relax in and have a drink after a hard days sightseeing. Good breakfast with good choice of food. Reception always available to answer questions and provided a map on arrival.

This is a basic hotel very centrally located. It does not offer restaurant facilities but breakfast is quite good and the local area is full of good places to eat in the evenings. Avoid booking the single rooms as they are extremely small and on the inside of the building. Overall this is a good value hotel for those wanting...

We stayed here for 4 nights on a B&B basis and we were not disappointed. We believe that our stay was good value for money. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms while small, nevertheless are comfortable. The breakfast had a variety of sufficient choices and the food was of good quality. For us the acid test for any...

Had a lovely 3 night stay here in early April . Hotel is located in a quiet area, very close to the Rathaus underground station. Very easy to get to the ciity centre, no more than a 15 minute walk to St Stephen's Cathedral and lots of beautiful buildings and parks to enjoy on the way. Hotel is clean and...

We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly anytime that we had an interaction. We were given a room on the 4th floor with a velux window so no real outlook. The room was small and it could do with being redecorated as it was starting to look tired. However the bed which was twin...

The location is great, and the breakfast is good, but the rooms are tiny and the walls are paper thins - you can hear your neighbours snore. We asked for a quiet room, but we're placed near a fire door, which banged every time someone opened it. Not a place for people who like quiet. Reception staff uninterested.

Spent three nights here. Super location - major sights within walking distance. Quiet street - very pleasant staff- great breakfast and coffee available 24 hours. Good variety of restaurants nearby and the U Bahn is close.

I stayed in this hotel for seven nights. It is clean. Breakfast served is reasonable. Very conveniently located within a walking distance to most touristy parts of town. It is behind the parliament. And more important than all is the price is right .

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
