This hotel is only a short walk from the station, the underground and amusement park, but set in a quiet side street. It is themed around modern art, and is well presented, clean and attractive. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, and our room was spotless. Breakfast was excellent and available from 6am, so available before our earliest...

Although the hotel exterior is uninspiring and is on a side street with no redeeming features the hotel itself is a charming and very convenient base from which to explore Vienna. The hotel has numerous pieces of original artwork throughout which helps create a relaxed ambience plus there is a tranquil courtyard garden which is a great place for a...

Stayed in the premium triple room, room was a good size, bathroom very nice. Hotel is close to two stations which is very convenient, we were on 4 day sight-seeing trip so this was great. Front desk helpful. The AC didn't work in our room, we spoke to reception about it and they said that it couldn't be switched on...

Quiet neighborhood . Very helpful and cheerful staff. Modern and clean . Best Breakfast for variety quality and service. Very poor beds undersized for triple with not enough toilet privacy. Local excellent Austrian restaurants and fun nearby amusement park. Recommend prior study of and familiarity with the tram system. The Stadtpark is beautiful and its beer garden is a great...

This hotel is ideal for a city break and for us only a 20 min walk into the centre of the city or plenty of transport near by if you prefer. Hotel was nicely decorated and the rooms were of a good size and very well kept and clean Staff were very friendly and helpful The choices at the self...

My friend and I spent 4 nights at this hotel. It is beautiful, the rooms are very nice. The breakfast was terrific. The hotel staff was very helpful and helped us book trips and concerts and recommended a fabulous restaurant. I would definitely return to this well located, reasonably priced hotel in the future.

Just spent 4 nights here. There were three of us in the bedroom, 2 single beds and a third rather narrow 'bed' against a wall. It was a rather hard settee[?] and I unfortunately had 4 rather unsettled nights. A memory foam topper made no difference to the comfort. It might have suited a child. Also the pillows had no...

The hotel is to the north of the city but close to Prater U Bahn station so easy to get in and out of centre. The original room we had was in the new part of the hotel. It was OK but a bit small. The air con was not working so they moved us to a much bigger room...

The one and only hotel where my room did not feel like a standard boring stay-one-night-and-leave room. I just loved it! I loved the bed, the painting on the wall, the grey color scheme in the bathroom, wooden floor and really soft carpet (not a usual thing in hotels!) It just felt like at home or at a good friends...

Not only is Der Wilhelmshof well situated near the U-Bahn, it is decorated in warm, welcoming colours which are artist inspired. The courtyard is extremely well arranged for large and small groups and we enjoyed our coffee or a glass of wine there quite often. The best thing about this hotel, though, is the staff. They were all friendly, helpful...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
