A more complete review is that, from start to finish, our experience with this hotel has been excellent. The initial booking was handled quickly and in a friendly and helpful fashion. Our email queries about room facilities, airport transfers, accessibility etc were all handled very swiftly and to our complete satisfaction. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted (all the...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

Wonderful hotel where all the rooms are different and have some character. Bar has a broad selection of Austrian wines and the staff were great at helping you find something that fitted your tastes. They didn't have a restaurant in the evenings but did serve cold platters etc in the bar which was a great solution for a cold night...

I stayed at this family-owned hotel from 13thmay until 16thmay in room 205. To my surprise, I have not yet been at a hotel where everything is so well designed, practically (!) and from an aesthetic point of view, and where the service behaves so professional and not meddlesome at all, at the same time. They are in the background...

Not a cheap hotel. It is not as near from the InnerStadt as one would think. It is at least a 20 minute walk to anywhere relevant. The property is clean. The staff is friendly. They give coffee 24 hours a day. The staff is less. You have to climb 10 stairs with your bags to reach reception. There is...

Dear Mr Mangesh, thank you very much for staying with us and also for taking your time to write a review on TA. If you want amazing wines and the best possible level of service, this is the place to go. The staff were all first-class. Conrad was welcoming and charming. Marcus was just the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable sommelier ever. Thank-you! We will definitely be back!

We loved this boutique hotel. Good value for money. Quiet. Clean. Fresh. Friendly front desk crew. Breakfast daily for surcharge but we chose to explore coffee/food offering in area. Perfect location in 7th district. Close (5min walk) to U2,U3 subway stop. From Wien HBf train take 13a bus to Kirchengasse; hotel is 5 minute walk. To get to museums/city ctr,...

Dear Dave, thank you very much for your review on tripadvisor and, of course, thank you also for staying with us. You are absolutely right, there are other good options for breakfast in our neighbourhood. Although our buffet breakfast includes everything, and the sweet Viennese buffet everything for those who love the sweet stuff..., we are always happy to recommend...

Great location (walking distance from the underground and the airport bus). Amazing breakfast with a wide range of sweet and savoury goodies and more importantly decent coffee. Really comfortable room - quiet room at the back of the hotel with great walk in shower, wine-inspired toiletries and really comfortable bed. However, what really made this stay for me was the...

Great spacious room, very nicely designed and godfathered, like all rooms, by a particular Austrian winery. Nice walk in shower. Good breakfast buffet. Hotel ideally located for museum district, Mariahilfer Str. shopping and getting around by metro. Good value.

A lovely place to stay. The staff couldn't be more helpful. A quiet location within walking distance of the main attractions in the centre. And on top of that they introduce you to new wines from Austria.

Love this boutique hotel - great location with great restaurants and proximity to major cultural attractions like the Museum Quarter. The staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast is ok but I wouldn't bother with including with your booking - simply take the coffee and croissant to-go option should it be available .

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
