Visited Hotel Das Tyrol on,a short city break to Vienna, great location close to museum quarter,on a busy shopping street,in central Vienna, metro 5 minutes walk away, easy to navigate to other parts of city, and airpot. Check in-fast efficient and friendly, supplied us with map, restaurant reccomendations etc. Rooms-have to say a little disappointed,on size of room, but is city centre, but for price(we found it cheaper...

Very highly recommended. I spent a wonderful three nights here. The rooms are spotless, the decor stylish and the staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast's amazing - and the sauna the only one I know to feature a tropical fish tank! The location's great for tourists with the opera and major museums on the doorstep.

When I travel abroad, I love to stay in smaller, boutique hotels. They always seem friendlier and more intimate. Das Tyrol was absolutely perfect. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The breakfast was divine. Perfect location. The rooms were so comfortable. And we loved all the artwork. We stayed on the floor where the hallways were lined with Donald...

Firstly we can't fault the staff and the way they tried to help us, they really were friendly. Our issues lay more with room and especially the bed. It sagged so much that my husband slept on the floor. They have put new mattress toppers on the beds but that doesn't help when the actual mattress needs replacing. The room...

Dear pixi46, thank your very much for taking your time to comment on our Boutique Hotel Das Tyrol. Please accept our sincerest apologies that our hotel and its rooms with their size and matresses did not match your expectations. Our matresses are new and we know that they seem to be very soft, that´s why we put the information on...

Really lovely and nice hotel! Clean and cosy rooms. Excellent customer service, everyone is extremely friendly and great knowledge of English. We went in December and the reception and breakfast room were nicely decorated in a Christmas atmosphere. Breakfast was also up to standard. The reason why we would give this hotel only 4 stars instead of 5 is the...

Came here last August and it was just lovely. Really nice comfortable hotel in a beautiful setting. The staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Good value for Vienna. Bathroom a little mouldy. We'd definitely stay here again.

3 night stay with my daughter to experience the Christmas markets. Location near the Museum Quarter and within walking distance of the main attractions and public transport was advantageous. On Mariahilferstrasse near shops and restaurants and not bothered by noise at all. Our room was cosy, comfortable and spotless - Nespresso machine, nice toiletries, fluffy towels, bathrobes and a little...

The location is wonderful, on the beginning of the Mariahilferstrasse, steps away from the Leopold museum and the Museum Quarter U-Bahn station and the Burgring S-Bahn stop, so very convenient to transport and to old Vienna. Extremely clean and very nice, spacious room. Breakfast was in a very cheerful room, lots of artwork and Christmas decorations (we were there over...

Just a 1 night stay but hotel perfectly located in the main City area Museum Quarter. Visited during the Christmas run-up and the quality hotel added stylish decorations throughout. Rooms are elegantly decorated with high-quality fittings. Note on bed told us we had new top-sprung mattress and bed was certainly very comfortable. Well insulated with excellent blackout curtains so a...

We stayed at the Tyrol for three nights; our objective when choosing a hotel was for it to be comfortable, well located to do the "tourist thing", and preferably to include breakfast. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. The breakfast was great, a wonderful start for the day. The front desk was helpful and extremely friendly. Room was...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
