Pension Kraml is conveniently located within a 5 minute walk of the Zieglergasse u-bahn station on the orange U3 line. There are good directions for how to arrive there on the Pension website. We arrived late on a Friday night and were e-mailed instructions for how to open the key safe outside the main door to access the building and...

A very friendly, forthcoming, family-run pension with huge rooms (at least ours was), a good continental breakfast buffet, and great location (lots of walkable sights, otherwise Vienna public transit passes are extremely reasonably priced). We were satisfied throughout our stay - the Kraml's really do go out of their way to make guests comfortable. Our room had running water but...

Good sized clean room with a view over the street. Quiet and comfortable. Good continental breakfast. I stayed here on my last visit to Vienna 20 years ago and glad I came back. Only a short bus ride from the centre and a better area to stay in. Great cafe nearby.

I want to start with the positives of Hotel Kraml. The location and room space we were given were the best aspects of our stay. Also the lady who served us breakfast was pleasant. The room was clean and we appreciated the supply of towels, soap etc. If you want a peaceful nights sleep ask for a room at the...

Family with three boys, aged 12, 11 and 9. We got two joined rooms, five single beds we could put together in lots of combinations, lots of living space, a huge bathroom (shower, not bath) and separate toilet. Easy to live in! Breakfast is continental, leisurely and really very good. Family run, very solicitous. The following week I returned on...

This hotel is fantastic! It's crazy cheap, our room was huge (we were also upgraded for free!), the staff are very friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was perfect. It's on a quiet street but it's not far to walk to the museum district. I would definitely stay here again.

The breakfast was the best part, lots of variety! The room could have been cleaner, especially the floors and bedsheets. This place is about a 10min walk from the U-line stations. If you keep the windows closed at night then you don't hear much noise at all.

My sister and I loved this quaint hotel. Our room was huge and included three single beds, a seating area, a small TV, a mini fridge and a sink. Our room overlooked the street but when we closed the windows we couldn't hear any street noise. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast which consisted of various breads, cheese, meat, yogurt, cereal,...

Very nice family hotel in an old building and especially very close to the City center just by walk. We spnt there one night with my friend and slept very well after a long day walking in Wienn historical part of the City. The hotel is very quiet and you can also have your car parked in their mini garage.

Decent accommodation for its price and location. Very helpful and friendly staff, explained to us how to get to the centre and gave us a free map. The room was clean, towels, bath robe and soap provided. Also a welcome chocolate which was very nice. The shared toilet and shower were also clean but shower drain was blocked. One downside...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
