If you like cross country skiing in the winter or biking or hiking in the summer, Kikutstua provides a wonderful place to relax as you are finding your way back to the city from Stryken or as the turning point for a "there and back" trip. With the possibility to stay over, this is not a trip only for the...

Get hold of a bike and spend a day in the woods behind Oslo. The round trip from the Royal Palace and back is about 50 kms - most of it on good non-asphalt roads in the woods with no motorised traffic. There are alternative routes, but my favourite is up to Bogstad lake (swim if you want), followed by...

Visited here for lunch and a quick stopover. First time visiting. Many visitors, both overnighting as well as day trippers. We was on a bike round. What a positive surprise, super friendly service and fantastic Norwegian waffles with brown cheese or cream and jam - hot from the iron and tasty. Atmosphere very cosy, friendly and relaxed. BRAVO!! We will...

Crossing Nordmarka North-South, Kikutstua is perfect for spending the night. The best sauna around, with a view to the snowy trees and lake. Clean and modern rooms, but no double beds. Outstanding dinner and wine, a reward for all the skiing. A big fire place and nice guests - and very nice hosts. We also go bicycling there in the...

After skiing for about 3 hours it feels like heaven to arrive at this mountain lodge. Great food and truly traditional atmosphere. The best thing still is all the nice people you meet st the dinner table.

A full service wooden log cabin witch serves diner, breakfast, snacks and drinks. The location is absolute beautiful. It's an 10-12 km walk from the nearest bus station thru the beautiful Norwegian landscape. Suitcases can be picked up at the bus stop (there is also an supermarket). You can't pay with foreign credit card, so take enough Norwegian Krone to...
