The hotel is a particular one, in the very centre of Bergen. Could not be in a more central place. Was welcomed by a very helpful receptionist. The room was spacious, internet connection was strong and hotel was quite. The price was on the expensive side, even though the prices of all items in Norway are expensive. The breakfast was...

The hotel has a traditional touch, built in ancient buildings. The room was spacious with a modern bathroom, though the price was not high. For breakfast, a good selection of breads and Norwegian påleggs. It's located by the Bryggen, and that makes everything in the city of Bergen to be in a walking distance.

Det Hanseatiske is based in one of the last original buildings in the area, and so could be classed as somewhat quirky - certainly the sloping floors do lend to its charm. Rooms however are quite modern and in a standard Scandinavian style. We requested a double bed and were given twin singles on a double divan - something that...

I stayed here in August 2016 for 5 nights for a concert. The location was great, central to everything. I did not think I could make it without air conditioning; however, I left the window open day and night and that helped a lot. The breakfast is ok, not sure if I would eat it again. I would prefer to...

I absolutely adored this place, and would consider returning to Bergen just to stay here again. Here's what stood out (hotel wise): you are steps away from the main boulevard and a 10 min walk to the train station, however it is not loud by any means, a peaceful side street is where the main doors lie. The old wood...

We checked in and immediately went down to get dinner. We arrived at the hotel restaurant and were told we could not eat there, as it was fully booked. That is the first time I have ever been turned away from the restaurant of the hotel I was staying in. Reception could not have been more dismissive of our predicament,...

It's right in the centre of Bryggen within minutes' walk from the airport bus stops. We had our rooms on the 4th floor in the other building - which was perfect, because it meant that we could walk through the quirky building, across the bridge and into our amazing room. We asked for a double bed, but admittedly had two...

Had a reindeer dinner here and it was delicious! So rich and full of flavour. 100% recommend! My father had his wedding celebration here, and the staff were very helpful in catering for such a big crowd, would also recommend for big events! Hotel itself is also very cute, with a proper Norwegian feel. It's location is perfect to explore...

This is a unique hotel in the Hanseatic restoration area Bergen. The upstairs hotel area extends across a passageway between two very nicely restored buildings that make up the hotel. Our room was on the smallish side, but quaint and very likable, up on the top floor. The layout and furnishings in the room and the areas immediately outside gave...

We stayed this hotel because this hotel reflect Hanseatic League history. The structure of the hotel is wood and built around 1700. It is very interesting how wood columns and frames are connected. Close to Fish market and starting point of cable car. Close to very good restaurant area too. It is also convenient location to Airport bus.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A stay at the Hanseatic Hotel is a very special experience. We have invested all our expertise and passion into creating this high quality hotel, situated at Bryggen in Bergen. With its location at the very heart of historic Bergen, the hotel is ideally placed, whether you are travelling on business or pleasure. The Hanseatic Hotel is not your 'standard' hotel. The hotel has been built on historic ground within the Finnegaarden Trading House at Bryggen, which is inscribed on Unesco's list of World Heritage Sites. We have retained the wharf style and architecture, and the old timber walls have been preserved in several places.Every room is uniqe! We can offer 37 characterful double rooms featuring exclusive furniture and unique bathrooms, creating an interior that is redolent of the time when Bryggen was a Hanseatic port. The Hanseatic Hotel will appeal to those looking for more than a standard A4 hotel, and who wish to spoil themselves in attractive and charming surroundings. As the city's most outstanding hotel and restaurant complex, we want our guests' stay to be memorable and can offer delicious culinary treats that will appeal to every taste. We have several restaurants serving exquisite traditional and international cuisine, a cosy lobby bar, in addition to excellent conference facilities and free WiFi.Our hotel and restaurants, as well as our conference facilities, with their unique character and central location, make for an out-of-the-ordinary experience. We can organise every type of privatefunction, from weddings to confirmations and Christmas buffets. A short distance from the hotel is the famous Fish Market (Fisketorget), where seafood connoisseurs mingle. Another popular tourist attraction is the Fløibanen Funicular. The airport bus and the railway station are just a short distance away.Welcome to a memorable hotel and culinary experience! ... more   less
