We came here for a wedding and could not have had a better time. The rooms are pleasant with very comfortable beds and no distracting TVs. They all look out across the fjord where you can swim ( water temp feels about the same as Cornwall) or go for a row, or you can borrow a bike or walk up... More

What a beautiful place with breathtaking views, exquisite cuisine and knowledgeable staff. The grounds were kept exceptionally well as was the museum. I would love to stay in there and dine there when I visit again, it was definitely a five-star experience.

Relax and enjoy this wonderful place with the warm atmosphere and tasteful food. We arrived in the afternoon and was welcomed by a smiling girl in the reception and the friendly Hotel manager Birkeland. They recommended to see the museum and the art gallery, witch was quite a interesting travel throug history. We also saw the movie about the Angvik... More

Correct me, if I'm wrong, but there is nothing compared to this. Cosy, luxury, romantic, beautiful surroundings, amazing interior design, great value for the money (remember Norway is expensive) and ok service (remember Norway is not famous for good service). Everyone should try this, even if they don't plan to visit a small village in Norway where is absolutely nothing... More

We had a light meal here on 10 July 2015 and were most impressed by this charming elegant complex, created by a local developer family, on the site of an historic trading post for travellers and traders heading north. Lovely rooms, spa and family museum and gallery. The hotel looks on to a stunning fjord and is surrounded by steep... More

Me and my wife had a wonderful at this hotel, unfortunately only one night. The room, no 208, was upstairs, on the corner. A large room, very nice (suite). Ida and the rest of the staff were very friendly and service minded. The dinner in the restaurant was just delightful.

The part of the hotel we stayed in was new and the rooms were fresh and clean. We enjoyed the four course dinner with local farm to table food. We also enjoyed the breakfast the next morning along with a brief visit to the spa. Would definitely come here again.

The history of this place is truly interesting, as it dates all the way back to the late 1500s, through the never ending merits of the Angvik family, to several royal visits and today's beautiful hotel. There's a spa, museum and gallery, and I highly recommend visiting the museum as soon as one gets there to really get the feel... More

No wifi, no TV, no noise, no stress. Just the hotell, the fjord, the gulls, the mountains, good food, and good wines! You have to bring your own good gompany! ;) If you go by car, I recommend Route 665 over Route 666 if possible.

A month or so ago our oldest son, my wife and I spent a weekend at this very cozy hotel. A family wedding was why we were there, and we all had such a nice time and was handled so professionally and so kind as we practically never experience at a lager hotel. The building, set close to the sea... More

Welcome to our hotel gem by the bay! Angvik Gamle Handelssted is located in the village of Angvik, by the Tingvollfjord in Nordmore. The place has roots back to the 1500's when sailing ships from Holland anchored up in the bay to buy timber. Angvik Handelssted was managed by John and Gurianna Angvik who got 14 children, where 12 of them started their own businesses, with it's roots in Angvik. A unique family saga started, and the family is still engaged in operations, now in 5th generation. Today, the hotel is fully restored with high and a distinctive standard. In a traditional Norwegian cabin from the 1700's, you experience one of Norway's finest spa, in addition we have our own museum and art gallery. Our cuisine serves local ingredients with a international touch. In elegant surroundings we invita to a great and real experience.
