Lost Paradise Resort is a colourful, comfortable, and pleasant resort. The whole place was designed and decorated by the owners, which also founded a school next door. They are always around, looking after the place and guests. They and their staff are really nice, helpful and kind (all of them speak very good English).
We stayed in two different rooms and both of them were huge, very luminous, super clean, with air-conditioners and fans, complimentary tea and coffee, and awesome views to the beach. We had room service every day and buffet breakfast (Malaysian and western style).
Free hot and cold drinking water all day.
There are two big swimming pools (+ one smaller) with sea view and extra towels are also provided on request.
The place is next to bus stop and close to the national Park (great location).
Our stay at Lost Paradise Resort was amazing and we hope to come back one day.

Our room view is facing the sea view , we get to see the sunrise in the morning and the sound of waves softly at night. The room is clean and the bath room big enough for four of us in a two double bed sea view room. All the basic amenities being prepared well like toothbrush and shampoo, even they got a hair conditional for us its more easier for long hair girls to manage their hair. Nice ambiance and colorful place for us to relaxing.

This is a great place,so colourful and Quirky you always see something new to look at.,the room was very large so was the shower room.
There are two adult pools besides a small one for small children,
If you like a pool side bar it is not for you,as there is no bar at all,but you can take in your own drink.
The staff were all very friendly, good Choice for breakfast you can order breakfast as well if you want scrambled egg et cetera at no extra cost.
We ate out during the day but you can order food from the hotel with a little notice.
The only downside for me being in my 70’s getting out of the pool as there are no steps,it would just make it that bit easier.
We over looked the sea and across the bay we could see all the skyscrapers of Penang but it was so quite and peaceful sitting i the grounds of the hotel.
I did try to put photos on the site ,but something seems to have gone wrong

If you are looking for no frills, eclectic, colourful resort then this is for you. Read the interesting and inspiring story of the resort and the Lighthouse Academy and then enjoy the atmosphere of this low key and friendly resort. Rooms are of many varieties and prices and decorated in different styles. Furnishings were amazing and the bed was very comfortable. We could hear tiny wave breaks all night to lull us to sleep. Breakfast is simple but plentiful, Manager Mary is a gem and so friendly and helpful. The place is a little isolated being just past the Floating Museum but a Grab car is cheap and quick to arrive. There are great places to visit further out at Batu Ferringah. If you enjoy laid back atmosphere with happy staff and at budget rates this is for you. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to those with these holiday Ideas in mind. Very restful.

Poor customer service. My friend's and I reached the hotel at 4pm. Payment was collected and then I was told that the room was not ready. The excuse given was that their previous guests did late check in.
When we asked for another room, the receptionist said, there is a room with a single and a double bed. We agreed. "but you have to wait." again. We came later by an hour and we were asked to wait. Further argument took place and finally we were placed in a room with 4 single beds.
Cleanliness was so poor that we didn't dare to even boil water using their kettle. The room was dusty.
The heater was not working. The water practically was hot for 5 seconds and then goes super cold.
The whole area lacks maintenance, perhaps due to Lesser man power.
It felt like all the beautiful view, location and concept was meaningless due to poor cleanliness.
Parking was available but you would need a bit of time to actually adjust to the situation.
I regretted booking Lost Paradise as my birthday stay.

My family of six stayed at the Lost Paradise for 2 nights at the end of January 2020. We wanted to stay at a unique Malaysian resort as this was a first visit for my son and his fiancé who were visiting from the United States. We had many hotels and resorts to choose from along Tanjung Bungah to Batu Ferringhi, and the Lost Paradise was the perfect and ultimate choice! From the friendly staff at the front desk (Mary, Bonnie & staff) to the personal interaction and warm welcome by the owners of the resort, Dr. Chew and Mrs. Chew adds to the personal touch that you could never experience at any other major hotel chains. We stayed at the beautiful Grand Family Suite, Subuh that faces the ocean. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable for our whole family. The buffet breakfast was delicious with a good variety of local cuisine and continental breakfast. On top of the breakfast buffet, you could even request for eggs cooked anyway you want from the kitchen, Wow!
The resort is in a good central location between Batu Ferringhi and Georgetown, so we were able to move around easily to visit the Spice Garden and the Butterfly Farm in the afternoon and be at Gurney Plaza for shopping and dinner in the evening. I would highly recommend the Lost Paradise resort to anyone looking to experience true Malaysian hospitality! ❤️

The beach house is situated strategically a little away from the hustle and bustle of Batu Feringgi markets and eating joints. Most of the rooms ( Deluxe category) face the breathtaking Andaman sea and the near shore skyline. The deluxe rooms are all in different sizes and facing either the garden and sea, hence need to be a little specific while booking.
The place has friendly and courteous staff, offers free parking space, although gets a little packed during weekends.
Apt for families with kids and bigger groups.
Close to many tourist spots such as Botanical Garden, spice garden, moonlight bay beach etc.
Reopening after the government’s relaxed restrictions on movement ( RMCO), currently in-house kitchen is not functioning and also running short on staff.
Also need to note, unlike other hotels and resorts, intercom phones are missing here, hence one would need to either call the reception using personal phone or just walk upto the desk.

I booked a week at Lost Paradise during the recovery phase of the MCO from Covid 19. The pool was able to re-open on the day I arrived, and I enjoyed swimming in it. The resort is my idea of heaven. It is not a noisy place, except for the fact that it is near a road, so it does get some road noise. There is no bar on site, so no rowdy noise at night. The feeling is very family style. The resort is operated by a family, and they made me feel as though I was part of the family. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. Bonnie is an excellent tour guide! She asked me about the things I like to do and eat, and then made sure to take me to places that I found interesting. She is very proud of her home state and shared a good deal of the local history.
My room was beautifully and comfortable decorated. It felt like a storybook cottage. My room faced the on site school that caters to less fortunate students. This is the main reason for the resort. The money earned by the resort goes to the operation and upkeep of the school.
To anyone coming to Penang, I would suggest that your skip the chain hotels and come to Lost Paradise. Insead of a hotel like all the others, you will be enveloped by this wonderful family and staff, in a picturesque place you will never forget.

Stayed here with my husband and infant. The entrance was hard to catch if you weren't paying attention, but once you're there you'd be pleasantly surprised. The first thing that strike us about The Lost Paradise was the quirkiness of the deco and layout, giving you a glimpse of the personalities of the owners behind this resort. The staff and owners (who were around most of the time making sure everything is running well) were very friendly and helpful, and treated you like family. The room we stayed in was huge and felt extravagant, yet homey at the same time. As with most of the rooms, it was overlooking the sea and at night you can enjoy the city skyline as well. There were 3 pools (2 adult sized and 1 smaller pool for younger children). I especially enjoyed the history behind the resort, with a very unique private school in the compound itself. The buffet breakfast was surprisingly good. If you're looking for a break from the usual overpriced resort chains, this is the place to stay in. Definitely will be looking forward to staying here again the next time we're in Penang.

A mixed review I'm afraid. The decor and setting are brilliant, very evocative and eclectic. We were upgraded for free from a standard room to a sea view room and this, to be honest, was the highlight of the stay as we would spend hours sat on our balcony looking out onto the Andaman Sea. The rooms were a bit basic, no cupboard or safe but TV, sofa and small fridge (not built in, just plugged in and left on the floor). Maintenance was being carried out by staff in various areas while we were there. There are two pools, one next to the cafe and a more private infinity pool on the opposite side of the resort. There are also children's pool's at each of the main pool areas. Staff in the reception area were helpful. Cleaning was a bit hit and miss (and to be fair we declined them on the first day as had just returned from a trip out), bins emptied and towels replaced but beds left unmade. Reception would only accept cash or Grab pay, no bank cards. No bar on site and public drinking not allowed (we drank in our room and on our balcony). The resort is located in an isolated spot, by car within 10 mins in each direction there are bars and restaurants but nothing close by. Bus stops are also located close by, but there is no pavement where the resort is located so you are walking on the edge of the road for a while, so beware of traffic. The Biru Biru cafe is located on site and is very popular due to its views over the Andaman Sea but we found the food so-so. Adjoining walls are thin so if you have noisy neighbours (as we did) it can disturb your sleep.

As per their policy updated in hotel website, pets are not allowed.
The resort is literally built along the beach.
You hear the waves from your room.
From the pool area, you walk down 3 steps and you are on the small beach. It is pretty much a private and secluded area.
When the tide hoes down you can walk to the next small bays on either side of the hotel.
The beach is sandy with a few rocks.
Water is quite clean and really pleasant to swim in.
Basically beach could not be closer.
There are Rapid Penang bus routes from the Airport to Georgetown and also to Batu Ferringhi. The resort is mid-way between Georgetown and Batu Ferringhi. Hope this helps.
The place is great for children and there's a baby pool besides the main pool for the kids to enjoy. It's not a paddle pool though and kids are abject enjoy looking at chickens with their chicks running around the compound
... the place looks nice at first glance doesnt it?...however,be very wary of booking this "resort" of you don't have your own car. There are no sidewalks on the roads leading to it and the unlit and winding road is not safe to walk on particularly at night. 'restaurant' facilities at the 'resort' are very limited and then only to the day time... if indeed the cooking staff can be found at all... when we did manage to get some food prepared for us and eventually brought poolside, it was cold and then the plates were not cleared away for 2 days...
My wife and i have travelled through tropical Asia a lot and this hotel/resort was the biggest disappointment of all . Our advice? well, we would never stay there again
