The property exceeded our expectations. I read reviews that the room was old, carpets thin, no water or coffee provided. I suppose Mr Jensen took note and upped the level of service. I was welcomed by an obliging host, early check in at noon, newly repainted and decorated room with a new carpet, firm beds, fluffy towels, free coffee and daily refills of water. I was also provided an extra set of towels as we could not use those in the pool. And did i mention that the views of the sea from the balcony was amazing? Thank you for accommodating us. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. God bless you!

I used to be a frequent visitor of this hotel and liked eating at the hotel restaurant. This resort is built in a way that it lets the sea breeze blows that through the lobby. The hotel restaurant is also located behind the lobby and facing the beach, this allows for an amazing dining experience with a view. This makes the lobby and resort restaurant a cooling place to relax. As usual, hotel food can be a little pricey however the price can be overlooked due to its good portion and high quality.
The rooms are clean and spacious, try to get a balcony that faces the sea and it will be perfect. This hotel also is located opposite a famous restaurant Ananda Bahwan. This allows guests to have an extra option for breakfast nearby. The only problem that I had before was my room card suddenly malfunctioning which stranded me outisde my room. But the staff were very helpful and gave me a new key.
Overall, my experience with this hotel is great, it had great food, clean and spacious rooms, and an amazing view. It is even located near local restraunts.

This is one of those hotels that must be rated by how much it cost. This place is certainly in need of some upgrading, it is full of locals at weekends that makes using lifts of the pool difficult. However at the very reasonable price it delivers great view from your balcony, the breakfast is very good, the room is a good size and the staff are very friendly.
It is situated close to quite a few restaurants, the bus stops outside of the front and the beach is clean and swimmable.
Its good value for money, delivering all you would want for less that $100 Australian per night.

We moved here after a not so pleasant experience nearby. I’m so glad we did. Got a great price at reception and an even better one through Agoda and reception were really helpful throughout. Instantly the lobby is airy, which leads into a fabulous pool and then the beach which has a cordoned off “safe swim” area. There are several types of rooms, all have a sea view and a balcony. We were on the 23rd floor and looked out over the bay and the town. The rooms are bright and well equipped with complimentary toiletries and water + a fridge and a safe. The beds are comfortable and lots of wardrobe space.
Breakfast is multi-cuisined and very good. There are on-site shops and, bizarrely, their merchandise is cheaper than the markets for some items. There’s also an upmarket designer handbag shop Tek-Tek (very reasonable) and a very good competitive Sri Lankan jewellers.
The hotel is on the main road opposite some great restaurants and a short walk to the Tuesday night market. It offers free shuttles to Batu Ferringhi and Georgetown daily if you book and the bus stops are right outside.
If I have a gripe with the hotel, it’s the fact I do not understand their policy of chaining the sunbeds in the garden. It’s annoying and petty. However it’s a minor blip on an otherwise unblemished stay and I’d definitely stay there again.
A tip: Download the Grab App as soon as you arrive in Malaysia. Taxis are half the price of ordinary cabs, turn up within minutes and are very reliable. Ours back to the airport cost 29rm.

Stayed for 2 nights and was upgraded to a one bedroom suite. Full unobstructed Seaview in every room. Newly refurbished rooms, new carpet, good mattress and pillows hence I had a really good rest.

Breakfast was scrumptious, wide varieties of local and international choices. I ordered Mee Udang on their set lunch menu and its probably the BEST Mee Udang I have ever tasted. For a big bowl of noodles served with a drink and dessert at only RM20... What do you think of the price?

Location was excellent whether you are going to Batu Ferringhi or to town. Stone throw away from street food, cafes and spas

Service was excellent. The General Manager himself greets almost every guest and making sure their needs are met. When I was checking in and waiting in line, the Director of Sales and Marketing was at the lobby and she was very helpful in making sure my check in was smooth

It was a really good experience and wished I had stayed longer. I will be back again very soon.

Travelled to Penang island for 2 nights and my friend booked this hotel for us. Didn't have any expectation since it is not a new hotel. When we arrived and as soon as we checked in, went to the hotel's cafe called Breeze Cafe and had a delicious Mee Udang. The room need some upgraded work but I noticed they had some work done in the bedroom. I was very happy with the mattress because usually I will not sleep well when I travel but not this time. I found out that every room in the hotel has a sea view and we really like the view we had. Location wise, this hotel is in a middle of Batu Ferringhi and the town. Overall I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and look forward to come back soon.

Hotel is located on the beach with direct access from pool area, there are loungers and towels available free of charge.
Hotel room was large with nice balcony overlooking the sea, views were spectacular. Room was slightly old looking, but that didn't bother us.
All staff were very friendly and service was good.
The elevator was the biggest issue, sometimes waiting up to 30 min
Overall we were happy with our stay

I had a fairly nice 1 day stay here on April 2023. Check-in/ check-out was fast. Staff working at the reception was alright. I was quite surprised with the room. I stayed in a Deluxe Studio Suite Twin. It was spacious for 2 people and has a mini kitchen area? That was a plus for me. I had a nice view from my room (Thank you reception!) I think this type of room is perfect for families. There's also a Laguna Beach pub where friends and family can order drinks and chill. The staff at the breakfast area were friendly and polite. Beach area was ok, fun to take pictures. Don't worry much about food because you can order food from delivery or walk opposite to the Indian or Lebanese restaurant to takeaway and have it in your room.

Downs to the cons. The hotel is definitely looking a bit aged. The furniture and style of the room are slightly vintage. The bathtub was a bit hard to use because it was making a really loud squeaking sound. When I wrongly adjust, brown water start coming out. Wifi was bad. It needs an upgrade because it kept disconnecting. I didn't know how to call reception and ask for more amenities because there was no Parking was confusing and limited. Pls take note, you'll have to validate your tng, debit or credit card at the reception before exiting. The pool seems like it needs maintenance because it was kinda greenish. Breakfast was subpar but I understand because every hotel in Penang is going through it. Served nasi lemak, cereals, fruits, bread, scrambled egg, porridge, coffee and tea.

Overall, it still is an affordable hotel. If you're not looking for too much, this hotel is fine for you.

This place would have been magical in 1980 when dating TV shows sent contestants to Penang. I was there for 4 nights. Unfortunately in 2022. This resort has sadly had its time in the sun. It looks completely abandoned and in urgent need of repairs and upgrades. I’ll never forget that long walk through the hallway from the lift to the room. The brown carpet peeling up, holes and smelly. The doors to each room patched up and marks over the wall. Lifts that rattle and feel like they will let go at any second. The room I stayed in was operated by an Airbnb and apart from a nice view and clean, needed to be modernised. I felt security was also an issue with poor door locks. It’s obvious no (or very little) money is intentionally being spent on the resort. The location isn’t the most convenient. A taxi/grab is required to get to most tourist attractions. The beach whilst looks okay isn’t inviting enough to swim due to storm water outlets and jelly fish. There is also quite a bit of glass in the sand to watch out for so bit risky walking in bare foot after dark. Mobile phone coverage was poor in this location throughout my stay. If your on an extreme budget this place will suite you but if you can spend more find something better in Georgetown where there is action. Wish I did. I thought the beach bar located near the pool area was one of the few good things. Three days is definitely the max you need to spend in Penang.

Loved this hotel until the politic GM Gulab Mahatam Rai and new committee owner John Ooi (self proclaim Director as I heard) joined the hotel. They both played politics by having evil plans on the old staff and have zero interest in service of the hotel at all. I , as one, has experienced the evilness from them both. I saw with my own eyes, how traumatized the staff were in the presence of these 2 fellas.

In May 2020, all the hotel old staff were retrenched by the order of this Gulab GM which he finally reigned in his evil plans (without a cent of compensation to the old staff).

This place is now badly managed, room was tired, carpet was torn and never replaced and can see cement, .. more like a cheap hostel for covid patients than a hotel. And yes, they are a quarantine hotel.

They are in need of a new hotel management and a professional set of Directors (comprises of hotel room owners) and a professional and trustworthy GM who does not have personal interest.
