There are 2 lift but 1 lift close for maintenance, no problem even with 1 lift operating. Room with 2 double bed, good for family of 4. Bed is comfortable, but the quilt is heavy, recommend hotel to change to a lighter one. Beach is clean and private, less crowded.

Booked this hotel as I am Accor member, didn’t have special Accor member counter. Room is spacious and the furniture seems in good condition but there is still a lot of thing they need to improve quickly. The hanger in my room is seems broken and they still use it, the coffee cup

The hotel is recently being inducted in Accor and has some way to get to Accor Level. The hotel was amidst the change when I visited and therefore I should not be too critical in my review. The hotel has done a good job in upgrading the rooms but the doors needs to be changed. Th

Hi all, We will be staying in Penang(@Mercure) for 2 nights. Can anyone suggest what things we can do / places to visit ? Thanks
Just take your guide book and take the bus or taxi into Georgetown and walk around. The architecture is beautiful and the city has been completely refurbished. I think the best food in Penang is in the food courts at the mall. And also at night at the hawkers’ market, but don’t go too late— they close at around 10.

Hi Can anyone tell me what is the weather like in July/August? Is there a free shuttle bus service? Thanks
There is a free shuttle bus from the hotel to the night market...you have to book your seats in advance . The travel desk will also arrange transport to various places of interest ...at reasonable rates. Not sure about the weather ...google will help.

Hi - is the beach swim friendly? Pictures don't show many people in the water. I heard it may be due to Jelly fish. Is that it or is there anything else I need to be aware of?
A. Jellyfish. B. I ve been told by friends who live nearby that the water is unclean due to land reclamation projects in the area around Penang. This hotel has a great pool, though. The beach looks very beautiful. Th hotel is dated, but that said it is clean and tidy— my room was spotless— with great and friendly staff. I loved it and would stay there again in a heartbeat. The hotel surprised me. It was really nice.

"If you have a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, suggest to ask for the room with 2 super single bed. Each bed is large enough for 2 persons."
"There are only 2 lifts and they are currently renovating one of them so left one - shows the renovating work will only complete in 2019"
"Request sea view"
