Thank you to Mr Diven, Kevin and the entire FnB and kitchen team for helping us with a great memory event last night. All my guest enjoyed the buffet spread and the ambience. The food is great. Not forgetting Mr Navin, thanks for all the help. Will recommend this place for future functions.

The Mercure Penang Beach is a beach side hotel that delivers all the expectations of a beach front hotel. Easy access, open breezeway lobby, sea front bar and restaurant, easy access to the beach and ocean view rooms that have panoramic views of the sea. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable but bathrooms could do with a make over and power sockets could be modernised to include USB ports at the desk and bedside tables. Post COVID recovery saw some services with restaurant offerings for dinner and lunch being limited on some days but what was on offer was excellent. There are numerous local eating houses within very easy walk to enjoy the local fare. All the reception and restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating, however the Concierge was a little lack lustre on energy to assist and preferred to stand in the corner and avoid customer contact unless approached. Overall it is a lovely place to stay and kick up the feet for a few days whether you are local or international traveller. This was our last hotel stay of 5 while in Malaysia and didn't disappoint in this very uncertain world we live in at present, well done Mercure Penang Beach and thanks for the hospitality.

I was here for a family matter and this hotel was conveniently located. I had a "city view" room, which meant I was looking over the highway outside the hotel. It was fine for my needs, but I recomment spending extra for a sea view. The room was comfortable, but in need of updating. There were tiny ants crawling across the desk, not unusual in the tropics. Breakfast was good, with the buffet changing slightly each day. The pool is very good, with a nice patio--very popular with families. The gym is excellent. It's in its own separate building just beyond the pool. It is large, with plenty of machines (treadmills, etc.) to choose from. My biggest criticism is the cleaning. The cleaning staff don't seem to have enough time to do a proper cleaning of the bathrooms. My toilet wasn't cleaned once in almost 2 weeks. Aside from this, the staff were friendly and accomodating. Check in and check out were efficient. Overall I think this hotel provides good value. I would probably come back again.

Welcome drink was average, only non-alcoholic drinks. Linens were very used and old, and pillows were old and require replacement as well. Staff were only 6/10 polite. Room was clean so that is a +ve point. No bottled water in-room. Should sell bottled water downstairs as there is no convenience store nearby. Beach requires some cleanup by staff. Property is quite old and worn in general. Very very average.

Love the renovated rooms. Everything works and works well. The AirCon control is so welcomed, setting temperature & airflow to really enjoy room comfort. Stayed, 2 rooms, 3 nights. Tempted to extend our holidays. Only one little drawback. We were frequent visitors before the pandemic and each time we were upgraded to suite rooms. This time, upgraded but not to suite room. Although Mercure is not required to upgrade us to suite rooms, we feel we are not as welcomed as we were before the pandemic. So sad. Accor platinum member.

There is limited car park provided for hotel guest and charge extra fees. We have to park to other buildings which cost RM3 per entry and exit. It is extremely inconvenient for travelers. Honestly, 4-star rating is deceptive.

You can also park at the basement of Tanjung Park Residence beside the hotel. 3. Cleanliness was acceptable 4. Basic toiletries provided. 5. Seaview room was breathtaking with large window Cons: 1. Breakfast buffet was average some dishes was tasteless 2. Pool access was limited to one hour usage. Only one towel provided. 3. Room was cramped for a family

The ocean view is very beautiful even if its quite dangerous to swim at the beach because there is jellyfish. the view is pretty. The check in process with Front Office staff name Ida was very smooth and she was very friendly. The cleanliness of the rooms (we booked 4 rooms for 3 nights and additional 1 more room for 1 night stay), the quality of the room make up service, maintenance service and the food during breakfast. On the day of check-in, when i enter my room, i was amazed by the view. When i try to turn on the TV, i found out the TV is not working (actually it might be our problem because we didn't use the correct button on the remote control) and called maintenance. They didn't come to rectify the problem until the next day. That is just after i place a report at the front desk again. There are a bunch of hairs clogged at the bathroom shower drainage. In my sister's room, there are garbage in the tissue box slot in the bathroom, the floor is sticky. There are spots of beach sands at the hallway that stays there for 3 days we stayed there. Towels in my sisters room has black stains on them. and the best part, towels in my parents room are torn. On the second day, we request for room make up service, the housekeeping did come and clean my room but they DID NOT clear the garbage in the bathroom dustbin. First day of breakfast, i understand that you have high occupancy and you wants to maintain SOP for the buffet. But we have to queue for almost 30 mins to get a table. You have space on the patio, why don't you extend your buffet and add more tables over there? The food on the first day of breakfast, the sambal is too sour, the chicken rendang taste burned, the vegetables are soggy and the buffet line is very messy. On the third day, housekeeping come to make up the room and change the towels, the towels are smelly. Overall, my stay there was very disappointing.
