Detailed Reviews
We returned on 11.3.20 after 1 weeks half board. Our sea view room was on the top floor and got the sun from mid morning until late.
Our room was very comfortable, 2 lovely fluffy dressing gowns were provided with complementary slippers. Personally we found the beds comfortable and the towels clean of a good size and condition. Pool towels were provided and could be changed once during your stay, or you could pay 2 euros if you wished to change them more regularly.
The indoor pools were heated and very pleasant. All in all we thought the hotel was great. The staff were pleasant, very hardworking. I would say they were understaffed in the dining room, as it was hard for them to keep up with drinks and replenishing tables. However the food was good.
There are not many bars or restaurants near the hotel, but we found the drink prices in the hotel reasonable and paid more for the same drinks in bars in Paphos.
We got back just before they started cancelling flights to and from the Island because of the Corona virus. So no idea if the hotel has remained open.
I can only wish the hotel and all of its staff the best of luck in this current crisis. Lots of people seem to go back year upon year. Hopefully we will be able to do the same.

We returned last week from a 7 night stay at this hotel. We had upgraded to all inclusive and found that this was very good value, with an extensive choice of food, drinks and cocktails.
The hotel room was lovely with comfortable beds, cleaned to an excellent standard every day. British TV chanels ( not that we go on holiday to watch TV) , free safe, kettle with tea, coffee and milk replenished every day.
The evening meal is served in the original part of the hotel, but breakfast and lunch is served in a newer dining room which is very light and modern. All the staff are very friendly in both restaurants and all the bars.
The hotel is situated in a nice area, very convenient for the local bus service which we used to get into Paphos. There is lots to see and do in the Paphos harbour area.
We had a fabulous holiday, didnt want to come home, and would love to return sometime in the future.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
I have read many of the reviews and I have to disagree that this hotel is not 4 star. The beds are uncomfortable with springs digging in you. Very uncomfortable to try to sleep on probably would benefit from a mattress topper. The beds are very low down. Air conditioning is off.... sorry when it’s 20 plus degrees it should be on for the customer to choose to put it on or off. No spraying of areas to combat the mosquitoes. The pool area is not cleaned as it should be, yes it gets someone putting the sun beds side by side. Sadly even when the know the weather will be windy and raining the beds and toppers are left out to blow everywhere. The pool towels are tiny and hard. The bath towels are washed to an inch of its life and again small and do hard. These need replacing. The area needs sprucing up.
The food is ok I would imagine you would get bored after a week. First night we were ignored even though we had a drink package. We had eaten our dinner and waited and waited before having to show out to get a waiter attention. After this we found eating in the conservatory was much nicer and the staff serving there were very attentive. They could be slow to replenish things like the cheese which only came out with tiny amounts and was gone in minutes.
Service in the bars was hit and miss it depended on if they were having a good chat with one another or remembering that they were being paid to work. All were friendly but lacked direction at times.
My review is probably very critical but having been to other 4 star hotels this did fall short in many of the areas. However, it did not cost a lot to stay here half board for the week so maybe it’s reflected in the price.

Dear nicolac531 We would like to express our gratitude for taking time to publish your review here, at the TripAdvisor community. Our main goal here at St. George Hotel is to provide excellent service to our guests and your constructive feedback is very much appreciated. In regards with the air condition, at this time of the year, the weather in Cyprus is very unstable. At the moment we are having 14 degrees Celsius. We always operate air condition / heating according to demand and currently the demand for heating is greater. Please rest assured that your comments will be communicated to the relevant departments in order to improve our overall customer experience further. We thank you kindly for choosing St. George Hotel for your recent stay and wish you safe future travels

We stayed at St George’s hotel for a week in December. In general the hotel and facilities were very impressive. Our room and balcony were lovely and very clean and tidy. In general, the staff were great, particularly the chiefs (who were very accommodating) and the reception staff. The food was tasty and there was a wide selection. Just a heads up to vegetarians- you should order food options in advance at reception if you’re half board.
The only thing we found that let St George’s down was its lack of environmental initiative. Something it should take seriously to maintain the strong review.
There is water at breakfast but a no refill policy which means in the day they want you to buy it - it only comes in 1lt bottles and due to the heat two people can expect to get through at least 4 a day! We spoke to a guest at another local 4* hotel who said that they were encouraged to fill up bottles to reduce waste - this is polar opposite to reaction we got when we requested to do so. They also have plastic shampoo bottles instead of refill ones I have seen in similar upmarket hotels in Europe.
Nevertheless, the stay was fab, the location by the beach, the indoor pool and spa facilities meant we were truly able to relax. It’s a bit of a way into the harbour where many shops/restaurants are based but the bus links are frequent. I would highly recommend the hotel.

My friends and I book the hotel for one night in July. After check in we went to the pool but all sunbeds were occupied with towels. 10 people were in the pool and the sunbeds were more than 60. We threw our stuff in the corner and went for a swim. After 1 hour still 10 persons in the pool and still all sunbeds with towels on it. I ask from a guy who works there to help us find sunbeds. He told me that I can remove the existing towel only if they don't have anything personal items on it. But all had at least one hat or toys except 2 sunbeds. We tried to move the towel and a lady next to those sunbeds told us that they belong to her family and they are in their room. After that incident I complained at the reception and the next day nothing changed. I was at the balcony and saw the same exact situation. I didn't even bother wearing swimwear. The full blame is on the hotel because they were no organised at all. This incident destroyed my weekend and it was a totally waste of money.
And to be fair the rooms were clean and breakfast was rich but for 150 euros per night that was the expected. I find better for 60 euros per night. Never again.

Dear Stelsg, Thank you for choosing St. George Hotel and thank you for taking time to share your thoughts with the TripAdvisor community. Your comments are valuable to us in order to improve our services and therefore we would like to express our appreciation for your points of improvements. Nonetheless, we would like to point out that the act of removing personal belongings away without the consent of their legal owner is against to our policies. Hotel's towels can be removed due to the fact are hotel's property. In addition, the sun loungers provided in the hotel's public areas, on the dates of your stay, were more than the in house guests. Unfortunately, due to the health, safety and hygiene protocols administrated by the government of Cyprus, limited number of sunbeds could be placed around the pool. Yet again, thank you for staying with us and we wish you pleasant future travels

The Hotel was lovely and clean with friendly staff and a good sized pool area that was clean and easy to get a lounger. It was right on the beach (it was a very small beach with a large grass area for sunbathing but perfect if you want to swim in the sea) with beautiful views of sunset every evening. If you want a hotel with luxurious and super comfortable beds and powerful showers, this probably isn't the hotel for you but it done the job for me and I was happy with my stay. We really enjoyed the spa and had a relaxing massage. Whilst we were waiting for our massage they have the hot stone beds for you to chill out on which are amazing and you can use these after your massage also. There are a lot of stray cats in Cyprus but they are very friendly and will come up and see you for a stroke. We made a little cat friend at the hotel who came to see us every day.
On our first full day we upgraded our hotel package to include all inclusive drinks for 17 Euros per person per day which we found very reasonable. (I mean for me I only had to have 3 cocktails in a day to make it worth while and I'd managed that by lunch time!!) We stayed Bed and breakfast and if you want some fab places to eat pepperoni pizza across the road is lovely and if you want a traditional resturant grab a taxi to Myrra Tavern in the old town. For a fun evening out for japanese teppanyaki and a dinner show - Visit Samisen Resturant but you will need to book in advance.
We landed in Pathos airport, cleared customs smoothly, grabbed our bags and headed to the Taxi rank where we met George (if you prebook a taxi it is 35 Euros instead of 50). On arrival at our hotel, St George Hotel Spa & Beach Resort, George gave us his card and told us to WhatsApp him if we needed to go anywhere and he would give us a good price. We took him up on his offer and he picked us up every day to take us on trips, to dinner, even picking us up from a bar at 3am! He was always with us within 10-15 minutes of texting. If you are heading to Cyprus I cannot recommend him enough and you can contact him through WhatsApp on +35799563066 to book.

Lovely hotel, and lovely staff.fist time in this hotel and it did not disappoint. Our room was very clean, tea coffee facilities hair dryer, dressing gowns and slippers,in room, and our room was cleaned every day. Heated indoor pool,I did not go but my partner and son went said it was warm and clean so can't really comment anymore about the pool. The beach is pebbles but it's a lovely walk along the path way we walked both ways and even though it was raining it was still nice. The restaurants where very clean buffet food hot and nice. Christmas meal had something for everyone, plus plenty of yummy cakes.staff at both restaurants where very pleasant and helpful. You can get a bus outside the hotel ,115 that you can take to the bus station, then get the 110, to the market, you can get a day rider €5. I would recommend this hotel we are going back in September

We have never visited Cyprus and chose this hotel as it was close to our daughter’s wedding venue. We were so happy that we made this choice as the hotel was wonderful.
Our room was at the back of the hotel but we were quite happy as it was very quiet. The room was a good size with a lovely comfortable bed. It was cleaned every day.
The staff at reception were incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and it was so easy to get taxis booked.
We had booked an all inclusive package and all meals in the restaurants were buffet style. There was an incredible selection of food and it was always easy to find something delicious to eat. The food was always hot rather than lukewarm which we have found in most hotel buffets. The wine was very nice as well. There is a snack bar by the pool which we didn’t try until the last day. The food there was really good as well. Usually we get a bit bored with buffet food but we were there for fourteen nights and enjoyed all of the meals. The drinks in the bars were good but we found it a bit strange that after midnight we had to pay for them.
We really liked the large pool although it was very deep so not so good for families with small children. There were always plenty of beds available by the pool as long as you weren’t too late getting there. We actually found it was more pleasant to sunbathe on the grassy area in front of the beach as when it was very hot there was a bit of a breeze. The only reason I haven’t given the St, George five stars is because the beach is not great. It’s really small and very rocky. It’s not easy to get into the sea without slipping on the rocks but once you’re in the sea is clean and clear.
The location is good as it’s not in Paphos town where the hotels seem to be on busy, noisy roads. There are bus stops near the hotel which go regularly to Paphos and Coral Bay.
There was a singer in the main bar in the evenings but we liked to sit outside so weren’t able to hear them. The Cyprus night once a week is not to be missed with the most amazing bouzouki player.
All in all we loved The St George. It was really good value and would recommend it as long as you don’t want a restaurant with a la carte restaurants. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful and are a credit to the hotel.

Lovely hotel, with all you need. We stayed B&B, and the breakfast has a large variety. We had fresh pancakes and omelettes most days, but there is a full continental or cooked breakfast options. There are many bars to choose from, with a good cocktail list, priced reasonably, not higher like most hotels. There is live music each night. Our room was very clean with house keeping visiting each day, There is a small shop selling anything you could want while away. All the staff were helpful and welcoming. The private beach is worth a visit, and the location is good for local restaurants, bus routes and car hire.
Would definitely stay again.

Just spent a week here all inclusive. Such a lovely hotel with such friendly staff. Stella on the pool bar was a star
Food was really nice and had something for everyone. Food wise the Cypriot night was the best
My only issue was with the spa , we booked a massage for our last day and was very much looking forward to this. We arrived early and none was on the desk for 10/15 mins
We were eventually taken through to the same room and the massages began. I was shocked at how rubbish mine was, I kept waiting for it to get better but it was annoying and I had to stop myself saying something. They eventually stopped after only 40 mins of a 55 min massage . When I said something to the elder lady she apologised and said the other girl is new and she is so stressed. We wasn’t offered any compensation or anything. Afterwards we went into the jacuzzi area to find that was really cold. Not a great way to end such a lovely holiday , considering it is a spa hotel
However I would still return just not go into the spa
Food was really nice and had something for everyone. Food wise the Cypriot night was the best
My only issue was with the spa , we booked a massage for our last day and was very much looking forward to this. We arrived early and none was on the desk for 10/15 mins
We were eventually taken through to the same room and the massages began. I was shocked at how rubbish mine was, I kept waiting for it to get better but it was annoying and I had to stop myself saying something. Yes, there is a gift shop (quite large by hotel standards) on the same level as Reception.
There are also a few souvenir shops on the main road close to the hotel.
Apparently they are £60, ive emailed the hotel but I've had nothing back
No I haven't been there, but there's a clip on you tube showing renovations on both sides of the hotel from Dec 24, was looking at maybe booking here in April, won't be now!!
Sparkly wine is, I wouldn't call it Prosecco.
