Most enjoyable afternoon tea. We sat in the sun lounge and they had reserved a table there at my request. The staff were friendly and helpful and the tea was excellent value including fresh strawberries and cream as well as the usual tea items. Was well presented, tea was replenished and delicious.

I will start with the positives. The staff were friendly and efficient. The view from the room was great. However, the room allocated to us on the third floor was of very poor standard. The old fashioned dark wood furniture was chipped, the bath tap fitting was loose and there were several cracked floortiles in the bathroom. The door handle...

I was at this hotel for a week on a whist holiday. it was 1 of the best whist holidays are group has ever had. There were 82 of us and the food, service and generally running of the hotel was second to none. The waiting staff, receptionists and chamber maids were all efficient and friendly. The hotel is in...

Spent Easter weekend here with our coach party. Everything about the Cumberland is what I would expect a good hotel to be. I cannot suggest anything to improve the hotel. Everything was fine ! From our arrival on Friday afternoon until Monday morning everything was perfect.

We had a comfortable clean room. The food was very nice, especially the homemade yogurt at breakfast, alongside the cooked breakfast selection. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit and will be back again next year.

Booked a table for 1.30pm and was seated immediately at 1.15pm. Hostess took our drinks order straight away and informed us that Mother's can have a free glass of wine (red, white or rosè). Our drinks arrived quickly and we went up to the carvery. There was a selection of top side of beef, Turkey or lamb. Our table tried...

To celebrate my birthday 4 of us decided to have afternoon tea at The Cumberland and it was first class. There are various options available for afternoon tea but we chose the Cumberland Tea which included everything and was superb and excellent value for money. 2 of our party could not have butter or spread, but this was no problem...
