Stayed here for a week for work. The bins in the room didn't get emptied all week and we had to use the same towel all week too. The owner doesn't really make an effort to make you feel welcome. Breakfast was poor hence the reason I had it once on the Monday and didn't bother the rest of the week. It says there is a longer bar too??? Never saw that. All in all its a poorly run bed and breakfast I would say don't bother going.

The man who greeted me (Paul, a Scot I think) did his job but I wasn't made to feel overly welcome. Room I had the door didn't close properly and the decor was 'tired'. I had to leave early through sickness and was told that the card machine was broken and I had to pay cash. Later that day (after I promised to return with the money), I was marked as a "no show" via the web-site I booked on so I guess I wasn't trusted to come back with tI did return and paid in full despite having no breakfast on either day and leaving a day early - they looked shocked to see me!!). There are better places for cheaper in the area

I needed to stay a night in Ipswich for an early start the following morning. On arrival at around 5pm I was warmly welcomed by the gentleman who runs the place. I would normally take my shoes off if the guest house is nice, but this was far from it. The carpets in the hallway were thin, wrinkly and dirty. They were the same in the room. Everything about the (single) room was exactly what you don't want in a room. Grubby walls. Cheap uncomfortable mattress. Crappy furnature. The window overlooking the main road was rattly and drafty. The curtains were thin and cheap. Not too much of a problem in the winter, but come the summer light will come flooding through them. The only one redeeming feature of my whole, all be it short stay, was the breakfast. It was top notch. But not good enough to raise my rating from 1 to 2 stars. I really don't know what the other reviewers are basing their review on. I travel around the country a fair bit contracting, and that is why I think an honest review is important to people like myself. For £45 a night in a single room it is an absolute ripp off. I wouldn't sleep there again for free. You have been warned!

A last minute booking for a budget overnight stay- incredibly warm welcome, good sized clean rooms, freshly cooked breakfast, tea and coffee and decent tvs. Shared bathroom reflects low price and it was clean and always available.
