Bury St. Edmunds, United Kingdom48 contributions26 helpful votes
Didn't want to drive back to Bury st Edmunds as we went to a party and wanted to have a drink so booked a triple room on the very top floor of this huge old house, and I'm glad I chose this place. Warm friendly welcome from the owner, comfy beds and good facilities. Breakfast included, which I didn't expect for the price and the house itself is quirky and full of character. Not your average hotel chain decor which is much preferred. Top rooms are up a steep flight of stairs so going to the bathroom during the night was a bit scary so if your mobility isn't too good be aware. But that's the only downside. Everything else was great and if I'm visiting ipswich again I would certainly book here again. Highly recommended.

Charlotte is a really nice person, everything was clean and there were many options for breakfast. The location is good, the bus stop to the centre is in front of the house and at the other side of the motorway there is a Tesco Express.

Stayed here on a bank holiday sunday, prices were so expensive in Ipswich but got the triple room here for a very good price. Private car park so guaranteed a space, breakfast in the morning and Charlotte was great! Very friendly and helpful. Made us feel very welcome and even let me leave my car there for a short while after checkout when I walked into the town centre (only 20min walk).

We stayed one night for a nearby concert & this B&B was perfect for our needs. The host Charlotte is extremely friendly, helpful & lovely to chat to. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, everything was clean & there were tea & coffee facilities in room. The breakfast room & lounge are very light, airy & there was self service tea, coffee, toast, cereals, ham, cheese, jam, fruit etc etc all overlooking a huge beautiful walled garden with lots of seating & lighting for evening drinks & chat. At least 5 parking spaces at front of property & a Tesco’s across the road. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Although the beds and bathroom were clean, not much else was. The laminate bedroom floor had not been cleaned. The lounge was cluttered and thick with dust. The conservatory was dusty and full of cobwebs. The cups were stacked rim down on the wooden shelves which needed cleaning. The dining table was covered with a cloth that was sticky. Cobwebs trailing from the plants on the window ledge up to the cereal containers. Take your own coffee and tea as theirs is vile! Certainly wont be staying there again. The owner was away and left her mother to see to guests.
