We stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. Heather and David couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The food was great and plentiful, the rooms very comfortable with many lovely and thoughtful touches and the gardens a delight. There is also a lovely walk (about 15mins) from Clow Beck House along the Tees river into the...

This is our 3rd visit to Clow Beck and we will be looking for another reason to go again! The setting is wonderful, the facilities lovely and the service from David and Heather is just superb. We returned this time for a party of 20+ friends and family ranging in age from 14 to 87 and everyone absolutely loved everything...

This beautiful place is only a short distance from home but far enough away to be immersed into an oasis of calm. Away from the hussle and bustle of everyday life, you can't help but relax and breath in the fresh country air in wonderful surroundings. David and Heather are exquisite hosts, nothing is too much trouble. They go that...

Our family of four came to Darlington to celebrate a 60th birthday with my husband's parents. We were warmly welcomed to Clow Beck and shown to two beautifully clean, well-appointed rooms: loved all the thoughtful extras including towelling robes, slippers and homemade shortbread. We had booked dinner in the restaurant for eight of us. Prior to dinner, we had drinks...

The rooms are very good - high standard all around and everything works perfectly Quiet location with short walks along the river on the doorstep Excellent friendly owners who look after you without been too on top of you Food is very good - not Michelin starred, but the next rung down - worth going out of your way to...

Came upon this lovely little place by accident, walking our dogs. We followed the sign to the reception to have a harridan shout loudly to us from a guest room, "excuse me, this is private property, this is not a public footpath, you have no right etc etc". I tried to explain and asked if it was a b&b. Our...

A great welcome, spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed/room, lovely choice of locally sourced food both in the evening and breakfast. I have stayed here many times over 10+ years and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in this area. Every eventuality is catered for - yes you expect an iron, toiletries, maybe even an umbrella but Heather and David go beyond...

A little gem of accommodation, hospitality and food in beautiful surroundings. We were greeted on arrival and taken into the lounge and offered tea and homemade biscuits. Beautiful main house with a warm and welcoming feeling. The owners Heather and David couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome. The rooms are all bespoke and we were in the double...

We had a family party of over 20 for two birthdays and had a meal in the evening cooked by David - first class as was the full breakfast next...

Chances are your Satnav will try to take you the wrong way so follow the signs instead and it WILL be worth it. This place rocks. The setting is lovely, the rooms are great, the food is delicious and the service and attention to detail are flawless. Make sure you try the homemade fruit and nut bread. It's all a...
