The staff make this hotel. They are polite, pleasant, attentive and really friendly. They really seem to care about the hotel. The pleasant stay started as soon as I walked through the door. I was given the best welcome ever from the young lady at the desk. The booking didn’t work on the quick arrival system (not their fault) and she helped straight away making it very easy after a long drive and late arrival. The room was perfect. I mean really perfectly clean and well set up. Great shower. The room was quiet and the curtains worked really well - it was pitch black in the morning. Without opening windows I was concerned I’d be a stuffy but not at all. The heating system is blown air and very quick to respond. And quiet. I ate in the restaurant on the first evening and it was delicious - a good range. The breakfasts were amazing, sausages eggs and hash browns were perfectly cooked. A great range of other breakfast goods such as muffins and croissants. Coffee was good too. Nothing to do with them really, but initially finding the entrance was the hardest part, but that may have been me being tired and grumpy! The car park is great, but pricey - also not their fault I guess. £8.90 for 24 hrs. However, it uses RingGo larking app and is silent easy. Great access from the car park and to the front. Wide doors and a wheelchair would easily move around the inside spaces. Good lifts, albeit a bit slow to react and move. For local stuff check out Google Maps. There’s losses of pubs, eateries and coffee shops all within walking distance. I didn’t have the £139 steak in the Tomahawk restaurant downstairs though!!

Room Tip: Car park underneath is pricey. Entrance is off the main road so best access is from car park.

Stayed one night with Mum and sister to visit theatre and couldn’t have wished for a better hotel. The staff were exceptional- helpful, polite and friendly, and very welcoming on arrival. The evening meals and breakfasts were delicious, freshly cooked and good value for money. Mum’s gluten-free dietary needs were exceptionally well catered for, the chef herself checking everything was satisfactory. Our rooms were clean and warm and beds very comfortable. Nice and quiet too. The location was perfect, only 5 minutes walk from the Hippodrome, and into town centre, and 10 minutes walk to lovely South Park. Easy to catch a bus to the Steam museum too. We would highly recommend!

Very disappointed! Premier Inns are generally associated with a good night's sleep, but not this one! Especially room 204, the bedroom windows are recessed in from the building fascia approximately 6-8 inches which leaves a deep window ledge. This recess is covered over with steel plating so if you were to tap it with anything, either your finger nails or anything at all you would get the metal tinging sound. The windows are approximately 1.5m in height so anything dripping from the top of the window/outer building fabrication on the window ledge/recess below makes that tinging sound what you're finger nails would do on the steel plating window ledge, WELL...... it rained heavily when we stayed at this hotel and at 03:40am the dripping started onto the window ledge!!!! Ting, ting, ting, ta-ting, ta ting ting ting, ta ting, it was a nightmare. It was like sleeping I a tent when it's raining. We could hear every drop. I filmed it, mainly to get the sound content. I made x3 separate videos throughout the night to document it. So that was is, I was awake from nearly 4am, I was shattered by daylight and after only 4 hours sleep had a motorway journey to drive. At checkout from the hotel I advised the reception and showed them the videos with the constant sounds and said I'd had a poor stay with them. The reception said they can't do anything about the weather, gave me a card to contact a complaints department and went off to help out with the breakfast tables. So the fact their building is made like a tin can and we have rainy weather in winter in England which makes noise on their building is a good enough reason to expect no sleep. Awful stay. Awful customer service. AVOID. STAY ELSEWHERE.

Everything is good about this Premier inn, the staff are kind friendly professional, efficient, evertything you could wish for. The building is spotlessly clean from the reception to the rooms. They have a great Thyme resturaunt which has a good menu and friendly efficent staff the chefs prepare great food quickly and add nice touches too (peppers salad etc) as good as gourmet. The bedrooms are quiet and views out of the front are great for looking towards the railway station which is only 5 to 10 minutes walk and if you are driving there is an under cover car park adjacent to the hotel which is £8.50 for 24 hours which works well, views out back are towards Darlington town. It is part of the Feethams leisure complex so there are other retailers within the area including the cinema. There is a nice walk along the river skerne leading to St Cuthberts church and the town which still has some good shops and the swimming pool at the Dolphin is just across the road We have stayed here many times now and every one has been a pleasure and we always look forward to returning it is always a treat to stop over here.

We planned a trip away to finish off some xmas shopping and to have a night out for me and the wife. We booked the Premier Inn due to the price and location, both brilliant. From us first checking in to us leaving everything was perfect, as expected with a Premier Inn, the rooms are basic but all you need, very spacious and the bed was lovely and comfy. Bathroom was great, very good space and linen all provided. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We booked in for the breakfast the following morning and it was fantastic. a little more than we would normally pay for breakfast but over all couldn't complain, and it was a buffet style so had a great choice to pick from and good choice of hot and cold beverages. Another huge perk was the fact of the late check out. 12pm, very good so there was no rushing around in the morning, Woke up bit chill time, breakfast then back up to pack up, shower and check out. Will defo be back in the near future.

We had a couple of nights here and enjoyed the stay…it was so nice to not have to go and complain about something. The Housekeeping team did a great job, Reception was engaging and efficient and the Breakfast really nice. Special thanks to a lady who seemed to be on duty every time we appeared..she knows who she is and what a great job she is doing..

We love Premier Inn hotels for it's value and simplicity and stay at them a lot, this hotel blew us away with it's cleanliness, I could have eaten my breakfast off it's Thyme Restaurant floor instead of at the table, I didn't I will add but it's a WOW from us and the waitress was friendly and helpful. Self check in was quick and simple. Great night staff where nothing seemed too much trouble, special shout out to Margo thanks for the midnight jug of iced water especially for adding fruit slices (little things mean a lot) and the helpful advice on where to visit locally. Easy access to nightlife all around the hotel, over the road almost from the Hippodrome, This hotel is in a great location and we will be back.

Spent two nights at the Darlington Town Centre Premier Inn and it was a premier experience in pretty well every sense of the word. A warm welcome, a lovely room (421, by the way) with a very comfy bed and a spectacular view of the town. Dinner in the property’s tasteful dining room was also tasty and excellent value for money. Only one irritation; the pricey car park you have to enter and pay for in advance for to get into the hotel .reception. We arrived with insufficient cash to pay in the traditional manner so had to phone the operators for close on 10 minutes before finally getting the go ahead! £8.50 for thge overnight stay; hopefully Premier Inn will sort out some sort of deal with the operators to cut out what was an annoying start. Don’t let that put you off, though. Once you get in it’s a super venue.
