I spent last night at the Fernlea ... and was more than pleasantly surprised. A friendly welcome, a nice, quiet room with clean, crisp fresh bedding ...and a good breakfast to set me up for the day. My only niggles were that there was an odd noise from a central heating valve (?) every 30 mins and the sausage at... More

I stayed here for 2 nights recently as I was doing a training course at British Gas which is only a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk away. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. I stayed in a single room which was not en suite so I used a shared bathroom and toilet. Both were both clean. The... More

Where do I start. Had several issues with this hotel.Firstly they agreed one price during the phone booking, but on arrival, told me price was considerably more than price agreed on phone, expecting me to pay difference. There is a pool table and darts board supposedly for guests use, the pool table had balls missing, only two darts with damaged flights,... More

Whilst working in the area I stayed at this b&b on several occasions, comfy bed, clean, basic but great value for money and a nice breakfast cooked to order, a family run business well run. My tip though would be to get an en-suite worth the extra £

Given the price of train travel and match tickets, I have to cut costs on accommodation when watching my team play away. Invariably this also means compromising on quality. However, this certainly wasn't the case with Fernlea. I was greeted by a very friendly and welcoming lady. She said they were upgrading me to an en suite room at no... More

Stayed at this hotel last week, the hotelier was extremely accommodating as I was arriving after midnight! The overall experience in my opinion was great value for money in an ideal location. The breakfast was good, overall it's not the ritz but for a cheap stay it's worth it. I would use again if in the area.

Are visit was an overnight stay, we arrived early but was unable to check in. The building is in a residential street, has parking at rear but very tight to get big car in. Curb side appeal not great but acceptable.was within walking distance to town centre approximately 10-15 minutes. Bed linen clean and bed very comfortable. Had ensuite was... More

Stayed for one night. I would describe it as a contractors hotel. Room and bed linen was basically clean but the cleaning was not that thorough with cobwebs in lampshade and high corners etc. Also empty condom wrapper in bedside table drawer. A little more effort would make a lot of difference. My room was on suite but next door... More
