We got this on a deal and it was outstanding. The room was gorgeous and so was all the decor in lounge area etc. Food was amazing. Haggis scotchegg yum! And the full cooked breakfast was amazing. Our mains were great too. Great location of stuff to do and plenty of spaces across the road to park your car. Staff...

Just been to stay for the weekend with a small group of friends, and two dogs with us too. Had a lovely weekend. The food was exceptional - good value and very delicious. Breakfast was amazing - we wanted to stay longer to try everything on the menu! The staff were without fail all friendly and helpful, and cheerful too....

Lovely traditional hotel in the heart of Ballater. Limited parking on the road outside, but you can use the public car park nearby. Friendly staff and welcoming public areas with comfy sofas and wood burners. Our room had excellent firm beds. Needed a little TLC in that the enamel in the bath was chipped, and it overlooked the bin shed...

A group of us stayed at the Inn when walking in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed both Breakfast and evening meals which had a good choice of dishes and some unusual combinations. Portion sizes are really hearty. The rooms are a good size, but could do with tidying up - there is an odd selection of furniture in some rooms....

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us and glad to hear that you enjoyed your breakfasts and suppers - both very important when you are walking all day! With best wishes,

Just off the main road in Ballater turn towards the golf course. There's no lift with all rooms upstairs. The room was a nice size with a large bathroom. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Free wifi. Parking is on street no problem finding a spot close to hotel. Not sure why AA rates the hotel 4 star.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us - I am glad that you had a comfortable stay. I might be able to help with your query regarding the AA - we are rated as a 4 Inn as opposed to a hotel and there are of course differences between the two as I am...

We were looking for somewhere which would allow our little Yorkshire Terrier in while we had a meal. I asked politely at the front desk and a very nice young man was explaining that they had nowhere suitable when a woman butted in and dismissed me in most rude and arrogant way. Basil Fawlty would have been impressed. I was...

Stayed overnight in this hotel recently and was pretty disappointed. This hotel has been awarded (or awarded itself!) 4 stars - there is no way this is a 4 start hotel. Much more like a 3 ! Ok, the food is very good, but there are no other facilities in the hotel, e.g. pool, spa etc. apart from the usual...

We stayed at the Deeside Inn for 3 nights over Easter. It is classified as a 4* Inn. This is a bit more basic than a 4* hotel but still very good. We have stayed several times over the last 25 years and it continuously improves. Decoration is all fresh and our standard room was bright with an attractive view...

I booked a single room on line as I'd stayed previously and liked it. The Hotel receptionist (Scots I think) was really lovely an upgraded me to a double suite instead at no extra charge and without any request from me! This is a really lovely place and the standard of both cleanliness and service is exemplary. The breakfast and...

Stayed here recently for a weekend whilst attending a family occasion. The ground floor of the hotel has been recently refurbished due to flood damage but once you go up a floor it is tired and in need of some major renovation. Our room was basic and whilst clean the decoration was shabby making it feel less than luxurious. The...

The Deeside Inn is an authentic Highland inn situated in the picturesque village of Ballater in the heart of Royal Deeside - a few miles away from Balmoral Castle, the Queen's summer home. Only an hour's drive from Aberdeen, this part of the Cairngorms is world famous for its stunning scenery and offers some of the best walking, climbing, mountain biking, river fishing and wildlife watching in Scotland. We can arrange a huge range of outdoor activities on behalf of our guests. The inn itself is welcoming and cosy with open log fires, wooden floors, tartan carpets, comfy tweed furnishings and well appointed comfortable bedrooms. In our Ceilidh bar we offer over 40 Scottish single malts and hearty Highland dishes, and also host fantastic traditional music sessions every other Wednesday.
