I booked this hotel to attend an event at Manchester Airport, must admit didn't read the reviews, but thought a Britannia hotel near Hale, how bad can it be? and at £75 the price was good for anything close-ish to the airport. First off the reception seemed disorganised to say the least and the receptionist is also the bar staff... More

We booked two nights at The Britannia Ashley Hotel. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist and found our way up the staircase (with very worn carpet) to a room that clearly had accommodated a 'closet smoker' before us. Window wide open, and the smell dissipated... eventually. The room, otherwise, was clean and looked out over the bowling green. TV... More

Basic but clean and tidy. The room felt cold with the curtains open, single glazed and lots on condensation. There are extra blankets and pillows in the wardrobe. It did the job as we just needed somewhere to sleep for the night and the bathroom was very clean and the plumbing was good. Had to get out of bed to... More

I chose this cheap hotel not for the great rooms but because it is close to the airport and as my flight arrived at midnight and my train was early I needed the maximum amount of sleep - the train station is very near. I checked with the hotel when I made the booking that it was ok that I... More

The room was tiny, the bed was uncomfortable, the rugs throughout the hotel are flthy. The maid got half way through cleaning our room and never came back to finish. Has free and good wifi and a decent breakfast. Bar service but no atmosphere -- dirty stained furniture. Good location not far from airport in the very upscale village of... More

The Staff were very nice. There, that's the good bit over with. No, there's another good bit later on, but first, the rest, The place was scruffy and not too clean, the shower couldnt wiork as it leaked from the base all over the walls and floor. The TV worked, the bed was clean and we both had a good... More

this was awful, there is no other word for it. Rundown, dated, scruffy dirty, cold, smelly. Uncomfortable beds, peeling wallpaper, threadbare and filthy carpets. The food hygiene score is 3 but it really should be a MINUS 3! We were told by a member of staff that the owner will not spend a penny on improvement, well, I urge you... More

I first stayed here last year, and gave it a mostly negative review saying I probably wouldn't stay again. However, wanting a budget holiday this year, this was cheaper than most of the other hotels suitable for Manchester airport and we decided to just deal with it again. With better planning than last year, it turned out to be a... More

Bad hotel, dirty rooms and grotto of a bar. Just when you think it cannot get worse, eat out. Food even the breakfast is trash. If you can stay somewhere else, anywhere. It is a place to avoid at all cost, remember the 60's this place is stuck there and the scone was made then.
