We stayed in the annex in 3 different rooms, 1 with a bathroom and 2 with shared bathrooms. The plus points of the holiday were - large grounds and house with plenty of room for children to explore, very good waiting staff, plenty of hot water. The negatives unfortunately outweigh the positives; hit and miss food - mostly miss, rigid...

Having stayed here previously we decided to book a family half term break with the kids - the main appeal being the swimming pool. However, having arrived saturday afternoon we were informed on sunday morning that the pool was closed due to technical problems, but it would be open on monday or tuesday at the latest....It is now friday afternoon...

Very friendly and efficient staff. Hotel is old and outdated but this added to the stay. Superb large gardens and even an indoor swimming pool. Buffet style breakfast including hot English foods which was excellent. Within easy reach of town and promenade and ample free parking. Stayed in main hotel so cannot comment on Annexe, but room was on 2nd...

Had a good short break here. It is worth having a superior room, some of the other rooms are tired but I believe will be renovated ion a rolling programme. Meals were fine with some choice. ( The beef dinner excellent) The hotel has a beautiful ballroom! I was fortunate to be there to enjoy a concert on the Sunday...

Lovely Georgian house. Rooms differ immensely. Mine was lovely, cosy double, cheerful, good view over garden. Quiet area away from the road. 5 minutes walk from Sidmouth town and beach, brilliant location.

Lovely staying at this hotel. Different, exceptional gardens and a real inside into different accomadation. It seems as though the activity front is very good, especially for young people and families. The hotel itself is a bit like stepping into the past and although I haven't researched the history the building and grounds are great. Location is an easy walk...

When we arrived we were directed to our room, it was horrible, mouldy milk, stains up the wall, shared toilet and twin beds. It looked like a hostel. We booked online and this was nothing like the pictures. After speaking to reception they moved us to a double room with a bathroom and it was much better! The pool is...

After many years (since childhood) of staying at Sidholme Hotel, I have finally had enough! The room for which I had paid an eight-night stay in advance was dirty, with a broken door-lock and foot-marks on the newly made bed. I went back down to reception, to be told by someone identified by her name-badge as Aleesha that it didn't...

I read the reviews for this hotel and was almost put off, but our stay was excellent! A warm friendly greeting. The room was great, it was a family room even though we were only a couple. It was clean and had everything you needed. The swimming pool was superb and the breakfast was exceptional, plenty of choice and very...

Couldn't ask for a better setting, lovely grounds and ten minute walk to the front but the room was another story. A twin non en suite room in the annexe, was a throw back from the 70's with dated wallpaper, patterned carpet and budget furniture. Shared bathroom and no tv in the room, not that I'd have liked to stay...
