My sister and I arrived late one evening and were lucky enough to find that Woodlands Hotel had an available room. It was a lovely room on the ground floor which was good for my sister and the owners are really nice and friendly. The breakfast was wonderful and we would like to have stayed longer but it was the...

One overnight stay and I've stayed here before for a summer break. Lovely owners, responsive service, gorgeous rooms, great breakfast, great wifi bandwidth, lots of space and comfortable sofas with a large quiet residents bar.

Great hotel, where the owners lived up to their reputation by being friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally placed for visits to The Donkey Sanctuary and is a short stroll into the town centre where there are numerous drinking and eating establishments. Not the hotels fault but visiting in January we should expect places to be quiet. Trusted access...

I'm a picky hotel stayer and there is normally something I don't like. Woodlands was bloomin' perfect! The room was scrupulously clean, beautifully decorated with enough furniture to hang clothes, store shoes etc. The team taking care of us couldn't have been more helpful and coped with a change of room booking brilliantly. The garden was beautiful and the entire...

Good hotel with helpful and attentive owners made for an enjoyable stay. Comfortable bedroom and convenient location. Don't be put off by somewhat over-the-top pink accentuated external architectural features.

Have just had a night at the woodlands and I was made really welcome. A lovely single room and I although I was early I was able to check in. Wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice. Great to find a family run hotel. The woodlands is a very old, interesting building and very convenient for the town

We have just returned from a three night stay over a long weekend. We took our three dogs with us and were given one of the larger rooms downstairs, perfect as it had masses of floor space and patio doors to enable us to take the dogs straight into the garden. The hotel was decorated and furnished to an extremely...

Just come back from our stay with family celebrating a birthday. Made welcome straight away and shown our room even though it was before the check-in time of 2pm. We had the suite and a lovely clean room with separate bedrooms for us and our son who loved being shown around the grounds and helping to collect the eggs from...

Recently spent 4 nights in this lovely hotel. What a treat!! I can't speak too highly of our stay at Woodlands. The public rooms, the dining room, the beautiful entrance hall and landing area - the attention to detail in the decor is just perfect. The same goes for the bedrooms - the ones I 'peeped' into were so beautifully...
