Having recently experienced a short break at The Woodlands, my wife and I have nothing but praise for the standard of hospitality and accommodation. The owners – Dan and Megan- and their staff, provide a very warm, friendly and professional service. The hotel has apparently undergone extensive refurbishment, the decor is very fresh and the rooms spotlessly clean. Dinner can...

Stayed for two nights in a cute ground floor double room overlooking the patio and gardens. Location is perfect for beach and town. Staff are lovely and very attentive. Both breakfast and evening meals are excellent.

We had a great room on the ground floor with access to the garden terrace. We were made to feel very welcome. The room was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was served promptly and overall it was good value for money.

Our third visit to The Woodlands Hotel in Sidmouth, and as always, Dan and Megan(the owners) go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one. From the warm welcome on arrival through the very nice breakfasts and to the very pleasant hotel gardens, everything is good here. Chatting to various guests at the hotel during our stay,...

Loved everything here apart from the pink external paintwork..Makes the place seem so old fashioned which it is not. I had an amazing room but I know one of my friends described his as wardrobe so I guess you have to be lucky or pay more. The owner was very chatty ( he used to play rugby for the Police...

Dog friendly hotels are sometimes that in name only ... however anywhere that welcomes a very large St Bernard nearing 80 kilos and growing has to be dog friendly. Eclectic hotel set on a main junction about 2 minutes from the centre and front built in what I can only describe as Victorian fairytale style - on site parking, lovely...

This lovely hotel is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Our room was beautiful - overlooking the gardens and very quiet and comfortable. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. There is a delightful lounge/conservatory leading on to the garden, perfect for relaxing. Fab breakfasts, but we didn't have dinner there, choosing to eat out. Would definitely...

Stayed for 4 days in a lovely room overlooking the garden. The food was very good both breakfasts and dinners. The hotel owners made everyone feel very welcome and it had a nice family atmosphere. We would recommend and Sidmouth is a lovely seaside town.
