Food and spa facilities move it up from one to two stars. Most staff offhand-restaurant manager and spa staff the exceptions.Waited 20 mins for key to room(arrived at 2.50)-only released when delay queried.Men working on"private"balcony on reaching room-continued at 9.45 am with power tools next day.Room nothing like website image for"superior"(??)room-much smaller,no separate seating area(only one soft chair, and "extras" eg electric...

Visited Sidmouth for the first time, the Harbour hotel was recommended to us, lovely hotel all newly refurbished. We had a courtyard room, king size bed, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Nice touch of complementary gin and sherry in the room. Lovely spa small but very good. Lovely views from the dining room and decking area along the coastline will...

Came here on a sunny afternoon, views and scenes very tranquil. We ordered the high tea which consisted of a large pot of tea, a selection of ham/egg and salmon sandwiches. And a selection of sponge/chocolate cake and scone. All very nice and fresh, little niggle the egg sandwich did have shell on the bread and scone was to crumbly...

I live a mile down the road so I am unlikely to stay at this hotel, but I ate there, as do many other locals. The restaurant does not appear separately on TA, so here goes: Sunday lunch, I booked a table though that didn't appear essential, as the dining area seemed to be about 3/4 full. A good Sunday...

Just returned from a two night stay at this Hotel, we decided to book after a really good stay at their sister hotel in Christchurch earlier this year. We had booked a superior double room - the view was amazing - room 31 - (see a previous review for the same room). I felt it was a little on the...

Just returned from this hotel and it was so convenient for being central to events at Sidmouth Folk week. Really loved our room though we didn't want to pay sea view price the accommodation felt quite luxurious, and was just away from the hustle and noise of the centre but a 5 min walk down into town. Great breakfast with...

We stayed for the second time at the Harbour Hotel for a 2 night short break in early July booked via Secret Escapes. I sent a letter of complaint to the General Manager on July 14 highlighting several issues about which we were unhappy. I copied our letter to Secret Escapes for information. To date (3 August) I have received...

Stayed in a Courtyard Room (105) and it was absolutely fantastic - whoever put this room together merits high praise. Decor was lovely - appropriate seaside theme. Huge king sized bed which was so comfortable! Felt like home from home - plenty of space and storage, dressing table, chest of drawers and side tables as well as wardrobe space. Approximately...

We spent a night here on our way back from the west country. Booked it as a luxury treat. First the good points. Our room (nos 31) was on the top floor overlooking the sea front - great views over the picturesque thatched houses on the sea front and along the sea front. We also had a bay window with...
