Not sure what to expect when we realised this was a hotel for coach holidays as they don't usually have a good reputation. But we were pleasantly relieved when we got there. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room tho very clean was a bit dated with dark furniture but the bathroom was very modern and spotless. My...

Better than anticipated. Having expected faded elegance was pleased to discover how well maintained this property is. No fancy extras but all you really need in good order. Very efficient at-seat breakfast service and very friendly, helpful staff. Caters predominantly for coach parties and senior citizens but perfectly good for all. Good friendly atmosphere with guests all very happy to...

Dear TRUTHBedfordshire, I was sorry to hear that you were disappointed to find the manager absent from the hotel during your stay. I can confirm that Mr Penzes spends a lot of time in and around the hotel however he is often ‘behind the scenes’ in the office. I am confident that none of the reception staff would have said...

Returned to this hotel in April 2016, again travelling with Alfa Travel. The hotel is situated in a very quiet street and is not far to walk to get marvellous views of Scarborough. The room was comfortable although not much space for storing suitcase. The food was good and staff excellent. The only downside now to travelling with Alfa is...

Dear Sandielou2015, First of all thank you for your comment. It is important to us to know where we did good as well as to know where we can improve. I want to believe that there is no particular reason why you had to wait in the restaurant unless the restaurant members were busy to serve the sitting before you....

The first I noticed was how welcoming the staff were, the second thing was how clean and fresh the hotel was. The bedroom was clean and spacious, the bedding immaculate. The choice of food was exceptional and really large portions. Yes I am seriously thinking of arranging another group weekend at the Cumberland. The hotel is ideally situated for getting...
