Nice clean rooms with great stuff skills to sort you out. Had a situation before which’s got me pissed off but one of the stuff her name Monica she was so helpful and professional, she was understanding and quick to sort out my problem. Honest many thanks.
From the outside it’s not very appealing it’s a concrete tower block , but room was well sized tidy enough. No kettle in room but free t an coffee downstairs which is a bit of a faff at 6 in the morning . There was no cups at breakfast and a fight nearly broke out over there being no eggs at breakfast And there was No sanitizer in dispenser. This hotel is clearly struggling but with the basics at the moment but the staff were friendly and polite . Plenty of parking and next to all local amenities . It certainly wouldn’t be my first choice hotel but it was ok for a 1 night stop off for work in Luton
Comfortable room, Great bed bath shower. Close to town and shops night life, Plenty of parking £10 a night ! Great breakfast Buffett with plenty of choice teas coffee juice, Great reception team , No tea in room all at reception, 3 girls on reception to help Paula Monica and Ginni ! Would stay again if in town , Handy for train station bus and football ⚽️
I went to Thistle Express Luton on Thursday, September 23rd 2021 in order to spend a night and catch my flight to Dublin the next day. When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed that because of a careless mistake of mine the reservation was made for December 23rd instead of September 23rd. I was shocked. I asked the receptionist what we could do and she told me that the only way I could stay was to pay 70£ for a night. I explained her my concerns and she told me that it was up to Booking.com if they would change the dates and the reservation. I called Booking.com immediately and they accepted to change it. Then, they called the hotel to inform them, and the receptionist said that the room price would be 80£ for the night and we would have to pay the price difference. I asked her why she wants 80£ now when earlier the rate was 70£ and said that this was the best price she could make in case I paid the whole amount and not just the difference. When I told her that I’d like to speak to the manager, she said “I am the manager” Again, I tried very politely to explain to her that the rate was the same if the booking was made for the next day or the next 3 months, but nothing. Then, I searched rooms on agoda.com for the next day and the price was 58£. I politely asked to pay that difference instead of what she was asking, which was double the amount of money of the room rate, but once again she refused to hear me out. When I requested to get a refund she said that I could pay 30£ (70£ – what I had already paid) and that I could have late check out (she thought she was fooling me by offering “late checkout” which was only an hour later). Not knowing what else to do, having nowhere else to go and being unable to find another hotel room in the middle of the night I decided to pay the difference even though I knew she was taking advantage of me. She was very unpleasant and quite frankly rude. I explained my concerns and that her yet she still took advantage of me because of my mistake and my desperation to find a place to stay. It is not acceptable to take advantage of people in need and charge twice the amount of money for a simple room. The room rate is standard for all bookings made either for the next day or for the next month. The next morning ,housekeeping knocked on my door, this was before my check out time, in order to tell me that checkout time was 30 minutes ago (that’s not true because I had a late checkout). The hotel room was dirty and very run down, it did not seem very clean at all. It also smelled like urine. There was a cobweb in the door and the carpets were dirty. Surprisingly, breakfast was very tasty - freshly cooked bacon and sausages either in a bun or in fresh bread, pastry and various jams. I spent one night in this hotel, choosing it for its proximity to the town centre and the shopping mall. But it was surrounded by people drinking, and taking drugs. A man approached us asking for money and it was scary. I am extremely disappointed with my stay at the hotel.…
I stayed here with my mum and my friend and we found the staff amazing and the hotel comfortable. There is no tea or coffee available in the rooms but there is free tea and coffee in the lobby. The breakfast was limited mainly continental type but with bacon and sausages. I gave my rating as four stars due to the tea / coffee not being available in the rooms and for the limited breakfast, however the staff being so great and the overall quality of this hotel made a big difference!
