Me and a group of friends went for bottomless brunch on a Saturday afternoon. Really enjoyed food & drink lovely. Amazing staff so friendly and constantly made sure everyone was happy. Drinks were topped up without having to ask. Would return here and recommend doesn’t even feel like you’re in Luton. Thank you to all staff for making it an amazing experience!

We arrived before check in knowing that it had a bar and restaurant so we thought we’d have a drink and some food. First impressions when we arrived were that the decor was nice and it looked clean and tidy. We sat on some plush chairs near the bar and made ourselves comfortable. We were then asked to move as they could fit 6 around the table and there were two of us. There were no options that we could see for tapas they were all large tables. However the man led us into a second room that quite frankly was rundown and unattractive. However the main issue was their was a conservatory type door that was wide open and it was freezing. The weather was a constant downpour and windy. We asked if we could close the door and we’re told no it will get hot in here later and they use the door to bring glasses in from outside. We finished our drinks and then decided to go somewhere else to eat as it really was too cold. As walked out there two people sat at the table we had been moved from - not six. Luton town fans were arriving as we left and these people were giving a rousing welcome unlike us who largely ignored. We asked if we would be able to eat leather in the evening and they said around 8pm would be fine. We came back to the hotel around 5.30, we told them we had booked a room, they gave us keys for a room without even taking our name. The room was basic the blinds on the windows were inadequate to block out the light. It was clean enough, there was a small hole in the wall and a couple of marks. The bath panel had a crack in it but otherwise it was okay. We went downstairs for our meal about 7.45pm. There was absolute chaos with staff moving furniture and chairs and one member of staff shouting at a group of very drunk people, telling them to come out of a room and stay in the hallway. We went to the bar there were around 15 people in there enjoying their drinks. There was nobody manning the bar. My partner asked a member of staff if we could buy a drink, she said are you residents, and said you’ll just have to wait, I’ll be 10 minutes, rather rudely. We then went to find our table, another member of staff showed us two chairs squashed in a corner with a small coffee table. We said there was little room and I didn’t want to eat off a coffee table. You’ll have to sit on the end of that table then she said, pointing to a large table with five people sat at drinking. We declined and again went elsewhere. This was not really what I’d call a table booking and if they couldn’t fit us in properly I’d have preferred to have been told. Meanwhile in the other two rooms they were still moving furniture and empty of guests. When we left the property just outside there was a man with his trousers and underwear around his ankles urinating against the wall. The nights sleep was terrible, the room 113 was above some doors and every time they shut they vibrated and made the noise of what can only be described as a gong. There were drunken people leaving the establishment and not quietly. We were unable to sleep due to light pollution. We left at 7.30am and I have never been so happy to leave somewhere. There was also a plastic glove covering a smoke alarm/sprinkler sensor and the noise the bathroom fan made was crazy. Good luck if you decide to stay here. It was like an episode of fawlty towers but not funny!

We've been going to the Leaside for several years for dinners and drinks with groups of family or friends and had previously seen the improvements to the outdoor area. Sadly, however, inside was a disappointment. What was previously the restaurant, is now a cocktail bar with a limited selection of cocktails on the menu and the food menu is now just tapas and a few pizza options - we much preferred the previous menu. The decor is weird and tacky looking. It's supposed to be Thai inspired but it looks more like a Moroccan shisha lounge that hasn't been updated since the 80s. The tables are completely unsuitable if you want to order food. The high tables with stools are too high and the sofas are too low with only a small coffee table to put food & drinks on. It's certainly no longer a place to go for a meal with a group of family or friends any more. Oh and the tapas we ordered took almost an hour to arrive. But that wasn't the worst bit....... A man sitting at the bar next to our table, who was either the owner or manager, was drinking with a group of friends and made some very inappropriate & derogatory comments about the ladies who come for Bottomless Bubbles, describing them as a drunken mess, amongst other remarks. I found this to be absolutely appalling behaviour from someone in management, These "drunken messes" are spending money in your establishment which in turn creates revenue to pay your salary. And to make these comments in front of other patrons is inexcusable. The man's group of friends were progressively becoming more drunk & loud to the point where they were invading our space around our table and we couldn't hear each other speak. The man didn't say a word to his friends even though we were clearly uncomfortable. Eventually, we paid our bill and went outside to have another drink to get away from them. So much for the chilled vibe they thought they were creating with the decor. The only saving grace for the evening which I why I gave 2 stars was the lovely waitress who looked after us. We wont be returning and will recommend that our friends and family who have also been going to the Leaside for years to avoid it as well.

We travel.....a lot.... and most of our weekends are spent in uk hotels. We have seen it all!!! So, with that in mind I have no hesitation in saying this quirky, boutique hotel is one of our absolute favourites! Friendly staff, amazing spotlessly clean rooms, fabulous food and great atmosphere- what else can you say?! Dont be put off by the reviews that mention the party atmosphere- just ask for a quiet room and you wont hear a thing if you dont want to join in!! Just need to find an excuse to go back!
