£55 per couple including 3 course dinner with wine and breakfast. Stayed 2 nights through my hotel deal..staff were really friendly! Room was budget (needs refurbished) but it was clean and comfortable. Other rooms have been refurbished. Needs a lick of paint in communal areas. Food was basic but nice enough for the money and the wine wasn't the cheapest...

Went in for a meal in the early evening with a friend and a dog. Was told to keep the dog on a lead - which I would have done anyway. The restaurant wasn't very busy and neither was the bar but we were told that we would have to wait a long time for our meal. We didn't, it...

Stopped for lunch. Grand looking hotel opposite ferry terminal. External signage implied bar and catering facilities. Hoped for a bar meal but advised no kitchen staff till 5pm. Welcome to Scotland! What a shame.

The location is great, the staff are great, and from the outside the hotel looks great. The problem comes inside. The owner is working hard to renovate the building - unfortunately that means that you may find, for example, no hot water in the bathroom and no main light. The food is also very average. The first night I tried...
