From the time of arrival to check out, I could not fault the service from all staff. Room was lovely and clean and very comfortable. The food was absolutely amazing and catered extremely well for my dietry needs. Did the local walk and used the swimming pool which was lovely. Very happy with stay and look forward to coming again.

We stayed here during our trip to Chepstow and really loved the experience. The rooms are nice and comfy and you get a lot of really great views. Bear in mind that it is primarily a golfing range so the primary activity going around you all the time will be golf. The hotel is in close proximity to Chepstow so...

Lots of mosquitoes if your staying in the rooms near the water, even during relatively cold bits of March. We had to walk through swarms of the things to get to our rooms, which were about 3-5 mins walk from reception. Pretty average food.

Our room was comfortable and the stay pleasurable with lovely views. But be aware that all bars / restaurants on site add a service charge to your bill, we werent told about this but apparently staff should highlight this when taking your order.

Late arrival on Easter Sunday greeted with delightful and informative night receptionists. No problem obtaining a small late night snack and drink. Room was a little chilly on arrival but soon warmed up when turning on the wall heater and was quiet all night long allowing a good sleep. Breakfast staff were terrific and choice of breakfast excellent with a...

We stayed here for a short 3 night family break over Easter and were allocated two good rooms overlooking the lake. The main hotel building is situated within a 14th century manor house and surrounded by a large golf course (we didn't play) with landscaped grounds which provide some nice walks. The staff wherever we encountered them were friendly, helpful...

We stayed here to enjoy a few days away without the children. Having read some reviews before leaving, I was a bit apprehensive. However, we had a lovely stay. Our room was a courtyard room which is a bit unusual as it opens straight out to the outdoors with a small lawned area. The room was very comfortable, well maintained...

OK so we had a problem. My wife had booked a room and it was tiny. I then decided to join her for a couple of nights but the room wasn't big enough for the two of us and a bed for our daughter. Spoke to reception and all sorted within minutes. What a pleasant team! The breakfast is lovely...

We have been here many times and managed to get away for the night at the beginning of February . Awalsy have a room down by the lake in 1 of the 3 houses that back onto it as they are the best. Nice feel to the hotel and lovely grounds to walk around .... breakfast has a huge selection...

Excellent and helpful reception. Rooms a little tired in the Mathern Block. But clean and comfortable. Golf courses : Old course is long. Unfortunately the greens had just been hollow tined and weren't in good condition. The Mathern course is not as well-kept. There is a great need for some toilets around both courses as it was a long walk...
