A reasonable hotel that is well located in a quiet part of town with good car parking. River walk and attractions close by. Bedrooms comfortable and clean; breakfast had standard offerings. Reception check in was good

Stayed here for one night for a local music event and was not disappointed. Warm welcome and smart new foyer and restaurant. Room a little dated and we had the deluxe room with the castle view. Car park and Castle over the road and easy walk into town. Castle itself, very interesting and I don't do castles. Cromwell knocked it...

Very warm reception from the owner on arrival. Really nice staff and great breakfast. Great location for the castle and the racecourse is not too far away either - Plenty of parking nearby. Overall, very good indeed and highly recommended. Elaine - Penarth

The location is terrific -- in a quiet part of town, right across the street from the castle and its parking lot, a few doors down from the museum and tourist information, and about a block from the river, pretty bridge, and park with benches. Being a single traveler, I was given the single room (#7) at the very top...

Me and my family enjoyed a lovely sunday dinner at the castle view hotel this sunday. The staff couldnt do enough for us and were more than happy to take a cake in and bring it out after with candles for a family birthday. Was lovely to see the chef coming out of the kitchen to interact with his diners....

Stayed here with my dog on the offa's dyke trail. But confusing on entry as you face the bar not reception but zac pitched up to check me in with little fuss. The place is quiet and doesn't serve food. I found a nice pub over the road and a tapas place on the river to eat all within 5...

We recently spent two nights at the Castle View Hotel in Chepstow at the completion of our hike along Offa's Dyke. We loved the Castle View! We had a large, comfortable double room the first night (with one queen size bed). We added a 2nd night right before we arrived, and our room was already booked for the 2nd night....

We stayed for one night in the Castle View and they were amenable to us having our labrador Lulu with us. The decor is homely and quaint and, as dog owners we were given a garden room so that we could take her out without interrupting other guests. Staff friendly and polite, breakfast delicious with healthy choices provided including strawberry/granola/yoghurt...

We spent three evenings at the Castle View. Our room was in the back, off of the garden. The room itself was spacious and clean although an update is called for, especially to the carpeting. Which is but a quibble. The hotel was quite charming. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The hotel was very popular with walkers. We...
