This is the best Brittania Hotel we have stayed in. We really love this type of hotel, the grandeur of the Victorians and this hotel is really beautiful, with lovely south facing gardens which benefitted on Friday by some nice weather. Check in easy and friendly, plenty of parking available. Very small bar on the ground floor but very polite...

When I first walked into our room I thought 'this is fine'. This is a problem itself. A visit to the dentist should be fine, going food shopping should be fine, a trip to a 4* hotel should be lovely, really nice, very good. As time went on more and more things disappointed me. I can only assume our room...

Just back after 3 nights at the palace. Rooms were newly renovated and really nice. Everything you need including iron and board. We had a little problem with rooms being near but they did what they could and not to far away. It is a beautiful building and is being renovated to a very good standard. Dinner was good 5...

Stayed at the Palace over the bank holiday weekend and it was my first stay in Buxton. The Palace dominates the town from its position overlooking the centre and it is situated in well kept gardens. I love the Victorian architecture of the building, which still bears much of its character throughout although I did find that it is beginning...

The Palace hotel is a beatiful grand imposing building but is in need of a lot of TLC. Not just decorating wise but structurally as well, roof leaking, lead work replacing, all new Windows etc. Having said that its a great place to stay. Ideally situated central to all the nice bars and restaurants in an elavated position... The room...

Lovely grand hotel (staircase is stunning). The staff were all so friendly and could not do enough for you. Plenty of choice at breakfast, lots of seating and no queues etc. Great spa facilities were a bonus as we'd booked the hotel to visit the opera house. Ideally placed for visiting the opera house. Beautiful setting and grounds. Really enjoyed...

A lovely hotel. The location overlooking the center of Buxton couldn't be better. It's elevated above the town but has a stepped shallow path for those who struggle with inclines. Inside the hotel is very much of a majestic old lady who could benefit from a few cosmetic touch ups. It does look a touch tired in places but it's...

Stayed Friday night. It was a Groupon voucher. Bed, evening meal, bottle wine and breakfast for £89.00. On arrival I thought the hotel would not be road side, from the pictures it seems as if it's set in some of its own grounds. Quite disgruntled about £4.50 parking? What all that about .....really? Yes, it seems. The hotel appearance is...

This hotel is in a stunning setting overlooking Buxton and is a very impressive building. My wife and I stayed here recently for a couple of nights and were delighted with our stay. The staff are very friendly especially on reception and couldn't have been more helpful. Our room whilst not the biggest in the world or at the front...
