Booked the Winter Warmer for 23rd Nov for 2 couples. Fabulous stay in a lovely hotel. Staff - as always very friendly and attentive. Rooms - large comfortable bed, hot showers and bath, decent size towels. Restaurant - the chef, waiting staff - especially Louise - were brilliant. The food delicious. All this set in the beautiful town of Buxton...

Thank you for your review. I am so happy to see you enjoyed your visit and took advantage of our Winter Warmer offer, once again it has been so popular. The Old Hall Hotel is in the centre of Buxton, the heart of the Peak District and is such a lovely place to visit, especially leading up to Christmas. I...

Was recommended this hotel by Health and Safety Laboratory as I was on a course there. Arrived Sunday night after train from down South, at first I wasn't quite sure by the appearance. But after checking in and finding my bedroom, I was very quick to change my mind, the room and bathroom were just amazing, not like anywhere I...

My wife and I were already familiar with the hotel's excellent restaurant. This was our first stay at this splendid historical building. Having read some critical reviews we were a bit apprehensive. We booked a "winter warmer" offer of bed, breakfast, 2-course evening meal and even a welcoming glass of mulled wine (delicious). We had a lovely large double-room, spotlessly...

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on Trip Advisor. I am very happy that you found the staff friendly and enjoyed your visit to our hotel. When we do have private functions in our restaurant we open one of our smaller function rooms for residents dining. It is a very rare that residents do not have...

Just returned from an overnight stay in one of England's oldest hotels. I booked the historic Queen Mary Bower room 26. The sense of history in the room was tangible and particularly visible in the ancient ceiling which I have no reason to doubt is 16th century. Staying one night in a room that most knowledgeable opinion says Mary Queen...

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on Trip Advisor. I am happy to see you enjoyed your visit to our hotel and took advantage of staying in Mary's Bower room. This room is where Mary Queen of Scots stayed and is part of the original building: this does mean that the room does not have a...

Stayed for a couple of nights at The Old Hall which was old world and quaint. The breakfast was very good and nice service. We had an early evening meal prior to going to the Opera House the meal was very nice but not hot. The teddy on the bed was nice.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on Trip Advisor. Our hotel is in a perfect location for guests attending the Opera House as it is just a few minutes walk away. Stayed here for a weekend visit back to Buxton where we lived for a few years. The Old Hall is a fantastically historic and characterful hotel, which is understandably capitalised on. It is well-placed in the town centre and very close to the Opera House, Pavilion Gardens, and local transport links. As soon as you manage to negotiate the rather...

We had our wedding here on Saturday 15 November 2014. We had the most amazing time and the staff could not do enough for us! We had the ceremony the reception and the evening reception and the whole thing ran like clockwork thanks to Vicky the Assistant Manager and her staff. It was all so relaxed. All our guests said...

The Old Hall is a charming hotel with a fantastic location in the center of Buxton. As far as my room was concerned, it was small and dark, and the two tiny lamps and clock/radio were so cheap looking that they really detracted. On the plus side, there was a cute teddy bear, and the room was quiet. I found...

Yes, charming hotel in a great location, but there are downsides. We stayed for three nights one weekend in November. Staff energy and common spaces were taken up on making the events happen, which left us feeling like baked beans in a baked bean...
