Food was very good, staff very helpful and would change your meal if you were dissatisfied. Room was clean and tidy but it was an old building and did not have double glazing therefore was a little draughty. Evening entertainment was a disappointment for New Year, only a disco even though it was a Pensioners group.

Last minute replacement for a new year break. Problems with room key which had to be replaced 4 times and finally handyman came and showed us how to 'wiggle' the card in the lock to get it to work. Room was very tired, very tatty and very cold. Holes in doors, ripped seating, filthy shower head (which we requested to...

At first glance, I thought "wow, this is cut above the usual for Britannia Hotels" the decor was pretty good. But the staff refused to accept my Britannia card, saying that they didn't take part in that promotion - whereas the booking service had confirmed that the card WOULD be accepted... The key would not work and a new one...

As a businessman who travels regularly and needs a good night's sleep I must warn you against the Britannia, which is opposite the Prince Albert, a venue that plays thumping dance music until 2am. I have nothing against loud music and until recently I was known for throwing a few shapes on the dance floor myself. But there's a time...

This hotel doesn't make any pretense about being of the standard of the Hilton. I have stayed here for 2 nights for the last 9 years because i run in the local Tough Guy UK race. All i want is a comfortable bed, teamaking facilities and to be central to a couple of local pubs and bars where i can...

Booked one night some months ago and when we arrived were told only smoking rooms left! Issued with our key and with time short we entered our room to be greeted by a young lady who had also been allocated the same room! I am so glad the young lady was not getting changed or some other activity! Given another...
