We have a double room and it's small but does the job for a one or two night stay, we have members of staff who stay in a family room which is bigger with a double and single them.
Rooms are clean, showers and baths are clean, beds are comfy and the staff are friendly.
There are a number of food options directly by the hotel along with secure parking. WiFi as with any Travelodge is free for 30 mins a.day then you pay. But it's not dear. I often just use my unlimited data and hotspot. A huge Asda is just around the corner as well.
We paid £40 for a saver room on a Saturday night- booked due to not wanting to drive 200 miles in a day to Knowsley and back. And the room was small, clean and comfortable.
There wasn’t much in the room, except a kettle and enough tea and coffee and milk for one cup each ( I’m sure more would of been given for a longer stay)
The bed was comfy and the shower worked fine, the room was tidy ( did hear the motorway- but that’s expected with a services branch of a hotel) and that didn’t bother us at all.
The staff were welcoming and chatty and friendly. I left something in the room after checking out and with a simple call, a lovely woman called Gemma ( I think) brought it down to us, couldn’t of been happier with the customer service.
Plenty of parking and amenities close by
Good location for motorways
Great value for money
Would and most probably will stay again
The price £102 per night was a little high but I though never mind with Travelodge you know what to expect.
Check in was easy with a warm welcome but that’s when it started to go down hill. The room was a little too basic for me. There were no towels, no cup and no tea making facilities The proportions of the room made it echo and when speaking to my colleagues on the phone they thought I was in a bathroom the echo was so bad.
The room was swelteringly hot and although they had provided a fan, there wasn’t anywhere close to the bed to place it so that it could blow on you in the night. The window was restricted to about 10 cm of opening. Now I appreciate that they don’t want people to fall out, but really? I manage to not fall out of windows all the time at home! In any event the location, above a number of restaurants, meant that there were people talking so loudly you couldn’t sleep until the early hours.
I tried to raise concerns with the reception in the evening but it was like the Marie Celeste and when I called the number on the screen, it disconnected.
All in all a dreadful visit. I would have given this 1 star if it wasn’t for the great welcome when I arrived.
Environmentally spot on, couple with highly trained staff with smiles, and also rich in problem solving skills
great sense of humour and expert in Communication.
If you need a stop over on the M62, don’t hesitate to visit Travel Lodge at Warrington Gemini.
Can’t wait to pay another visit soon.
Ample parking, clean bedding and well presented rooms, good warm water. I will say that the lift is quite small so possibly bear in mind for any accessibility issues, but I’m sure a ground floor room could be requested in those circumstances. Minimal road traffic noise coming into the rooms also
Plenty of choices for restaurants/cafes within a decent radius, but you do need the motorway to get almost anywhere so not ideal for those without a car I would say.
