Ideally located on the edge of the this expansive industrial estate if you have to go there, but makes the most of its' captive audience in high pricing, and a generally underwhelming experience. Been a few times, generally clean and tidy, staff pleasant and convenient for my work. Very much a transient business hotel, all a bit 'ikea' functional, rooms work but are really pretty basic underneath the 'style' and the bar/dining area is the same. Breakfast selection generally good, evening meals very uninspiring, not cheap and due to remote location, there's not much other choice locally...

Dear NRHW26 Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I'm disappointed that your stay was not how we would expect. Our menu is competitively priced and we want our guests to be able to tailor their meals to their own specifications. This gives our guests the option of choosing a number of different sides instead of having a set option. Please be assured your feedback will be taken on board and I hope that you will still stay with us again in the near future. Sincerely Debbie

Below, is a copy of the review I gave to the hotel after they emailed me about my stay. It was one night, mid week in January 2020.
1. Booking: I booked your hotel online, choosing it because of location as opposed to reviews or features.
2. Arrival: Very disappointed that finding out I had to pay to for parking on arrival. Booking in process was quick & efficient.
3. Room: The room was clean & seemed a fairly basic standard room. I did find 2 faults (Room 216) The rubber washer on the sink plug was missing, which did not allow the sink to retain water & the extractor fan was not working. Reported to reception. The bed was comfortable & room temperature OK.
4. The tea/coffee facilities in the room were unappetizing and therefore not touched.
5. Dinner: I didn't have to wait to be seated & was given a menu promptly along with my drink order. The choices on the menu were few, but reasonable. I chose the Burger with bacon & cheese, with fries. The order took a very long time to arrive, however, its presentation & taste were very good.
6. Breakfast: Was plentiful with an abundant choice, well presented and not disappointing.
7. Checkout: The checkout process was fast and efficient.
8. Staff: All interaction with hotel staff was exemplary. They were always very helpful & courteous.
9. This survey: Pathetic! It seems you do not wish for any feedback whatsoever from your guests (good or bad). It's a let-down.
10. Overall view. The location of this hotel (for my needs on this occasion) was ideal, my stay was OK but nothing memorable or special. the cost seemed high for what received. I would stay again if I didn't want something special, because of 'better the devil you know...'

I arrived Saturday night quite late to be greeted by a friendly gentleman and the staff all had smiles on their faces. Which is refreshing!
I was then told my room number and where to go and I asked about what time the bar was open untill and they advised it's 24/7! Well. What a time to be alive.

I came to room 227. Which was immaculate, free bottle of water, lots to watch on the telly, ive had a pretty busy week so thought ide indulge in the room service. The ham and mushroom pizza arrived within half an hour and the gentleman who brought it was lovely he advised on weekends we have to pay upfront but he went to fetch the card machine for me.
He asked me if it's okay and I'm enjoying it upon coming back for payment.
After that I had such a good night's sleep.
I decided to book another night.
The cleaners came and I advised I wouldn't require cleaning untill tomorrow as I'm staying an extra day, they took my left over slice of pizza away for me.

I decided to go for breakfast I had a fry up with fresh orange juice. And there was plenty to choose from. And when I got back to my room the cleaners had kindly left me a goody bag with extra towels toilet roll ect.

Everyone is quick to write a bad review but not mention when they get good service but this hotel has stood out a mile for me.
It's what we need in 2020.
But the staff are all a credit to the company and I feel they could charge a lot more for the rooms tbf. (Please don't though) 😂😂

Thank you everyone for a fantastic stay 🧡

Me and my Fiancée stayed here just for a short break, after seeing it on SecretEscapes we thought it looked great and reasonably priced!

The room was nice enough, lovely walk in shower!! However do yourselves a favour and get some more pillows because you’ll wake up with a sore neck, they just dissolve.
Tea and coffee was available downstairs to be able to use the kettle in your room, but be prepared to drag it across the room every time you want a brew.
The restaurant was extortionate for what it was, it looked like a school cafeteria and we ended up going somewhere else!!!
Breakfast was lovely, no faults and staff nice enough in the morning.

Cost me £8 to park in the car park, which is ridiculous!

Will not be staying again.

We stayed at the Penta Warrington the first Saturday after indoor hospitality reopened in May 2021. We’ve stayed here a few times before, the most recent visit prior to this, being September 2020. So, this review is based on both stays. We do like the Hotel, as it has a chilled vibe and the location of it is convenient for where we visit occasionally. Apart from the Penta Player Pad, the rooms are all pretty much the same. On the September stay the main television channels didn’t work at all. The picture was awful. The movies and adult material could also do with being updated. They have been exactly the same for a few visits now. Not expecting new releases because of Covid, but certainly a re-vamp. On our stay a few weeks ago, there were no bottles of mineral water in the room. On these two visits (no doubt due to minimal staff because of Covid) the food menu has been vastly reduced. All they offer is Pizza at the moment. Before our September stay, we were emailed an incorrect food menu so this misled us to think a better food menu was on offer than it was. So, we were disappointed to find only Pizza was on offer. However, the staff member did rustle us up some Nachos to start.
On our visit last month, we were confused because we were told only Pizza was on offer, yet there were other food menus on the bar tables. We weren’t the only ones confused, as another couple tried to order off this redundant menu. This again was misleading. There were also no desserts on offer, one of the supposed perks of being a Penta friend member. Whilst I understand, it must be difficult for the staff as they are operating with a reduced workforce, it was still a shock to see they weren’t offering table service unless you were lucky enough to catch them later in the evening. Everyone was encouraged to (and the majority of people had to) go to the bar to get served, which I believe is currently against the law. This again was very disappointing. The staff were friendly and helpful, so I feel bad mentioning this, but this is what happened.
Breakfast was nice the next morning, and one of the staff served the cooked items to us. However, a few minutes before this, one of the Hotel guests had served himself the hot breakfast. This was the same guy who was wandering around without a mask on, and had been the evening before in the bar.
He wasn’t exempt as he did wear a mask initially in the evening around 6pm but he didn’t wear it for the rest of the evening or the following morning. This same guy was also going up to different ‘groups’. No social distancing. Let’s hope he didn’t have Covid 19! It’s for these reasons mentioned above that I have low marked this review. We both didn’t feel as safe as we should’ve done.

The staffs are helpful and nice, the room is basic. There is a kettle but there is no tea or coffee provided? The shower is really good, enjoy the raindrop shower. I woke up in the middle of the night because the fan is too noisy, I have to set the fan to high to get rid of the noise! It sounds like what you hear when you rotate the paddle of the bike backwards. The bed is comfy, no complain about that.
It is conveniently located in a business park yet charges for £4 per night which baffles me. If you get charged to park in a city centre then it is acceptable but in a business park in the middle of nowhere?!??
The worst bit is the price of the food. I ordered beef and tomato soup for £7 and I got given the sauce of spaghetti bolognese! At least have some decency to make proper soup and it does not come with bread. Breakfast cost £15 but after I have eaten the dinner there, I might as well get my own breakfast from somewhere else. The food tastes fine, it is just the price which is ridiculous.

Plenty of cheaper and decent options locally. I went for this Penta as I’ve used the Ipswich one extensively. This was the first trip my daughter and I had taken since COVID.

FIrstly, website didn’t function correctly and failed to book successfully had to ring direct and then end video evidence of the website not functioning correctly.. it was as if a 4 year older had designed it. When I called direct it took over 15 minutes, however was booked in “but is cheaper than what you were quoted online” - that’s great, until it wasn’t. Drove 4 hours from home to hotel for stay and on arrival am told it’s actually more expensive oh and also you pay for the parking, oh and no bath for young kiddies, oh and no cupboard for any clothes? Oh.. and we still don’t take cash.

Ended up overpaying, daughter screaming having to have a shower where any hotel previously would accommodate a bath/shower mix when booked with a child.

And the tv in the room is honestly a joke, I know they’re often bad on reaction times with the remote etc.. but I’m not kidding this is like 2 minutes per click. It took us 13 minutes to put a film on, went to use Netflix but the “basic Wi-Fi” is horrendously slow. Ah but don’t worry because guess what, if you didn’t think you’d overpaid enough for a lack of expectation well don’t fear because of course you can book “premium internet” at another extortionate rate. It’s one of those things you don’t need all the time as the hotel is used for sleeping and cleaning etc, we’re out most of the time. But it’s just so noticeable it’s almost sad.

All in all I can safely say it’s been the worst experience from a Penta so far, genuinely gutted. Luckily a nice day out in Manchester and a fantastic time at Gullivers World, made it all feel a bit more bearable. First time I’ve used this Warrington hotel though, often use Ipswich and want to reiterate how utterly amazing that one actually is. Not even comparable in fairness, other than the decor maybe 🤔

Oh and the kettle? Lead doesn’t reach without having to put a boiling kettle on the floor. Not doing that with my 6 year old about.. 😂

This is a perfectly adequate hotel, and scores well because of the design and customer service, however, certain issues means that it just ls a let down. I'd like to be able to give a half star, because 3 seems too harsh, but there are good reasons for the "average" score.

Firstly, the room. Good bed, but let down by truly awful pillows. This in turn meant I got less than 4 hours sleep between 11pm and 7am, as I just wasn't comfortable.

I mention in the title that you are a captive audience, I knew that before I went, but my word, the restaurant knows that as the prices are more expensive than quality places in my home city of London. You'd think Warrington would be cheaper, but you'd be mistaken. Service wasn't exactly fast either. The food is OK, but nothing to shout about.

Back to the room, the TV system is outdated, and anything on the website that talks about premium tv is wrong. They've got the majority of Freeview channels (missing some of the radio stations), and everything was just in standard definition This is mentioned because if you can get the remote to actually control the tv in a timely manner you could actually watch some TV. It took me about 20 seconds to change channels at times.
Thankfully, I could work out the mess of cabling and just ended up plugging my my laptop via the HDMI. Maybe having a spare cable and a way to do this for other guests would be a better option (like Premier Inn have).

Room Choice. I had a room overlooking the road, and it seemed very noisy when I got there. I realised there was a vent on the window that was open, and closed this which kept noise down - just a shame about those pillows eh?
If you want something quieter, request one looking at the (beautiful) car park.

WiFi was faster than mentioned on other reviews, and a couple of speed tests had it around 8mb download, which in this day and age is shocking. Thankfully, I had 5G on the Three Network, giving me around 300mb, so ended up tethering throughout my stay.

Only one night, and that was plenty, I'd have to bring my own pillow if I were to stay here again.

Could do better, could be more reasonably priced in the restaurant, and maybe just ask how my stay was when I check out please?

M

We never saw anything of Warrington itself as this hotel is on a business park.
We knew in advance that we would have to pay for parking but having visited we have no idea why. We took our dog and that cost a further £20 .
We wore masks and used hand sanitiser- but we were in a small minority.
It reminded me of a Village Hotel. Dark decor . The room was fine and the blackout curtains were really good enabling an excellent sleep.
Because of the extras I doubt we will ever return as there are better value alternmatives.

The bar/reception was busy. The guy running it managed to use another persons card for the card check without realising or paying attention. The room was clean, but well over priced. Pillows were a deal breaker... once you put your head on it, it sunk to the mattress. Two didn’t make a difference!! Charged £15 for breakfast, making fruit and a yoghurt more expensive than gold! It thrives from the location.

Sorry Tom I've just seen your question so you have probably stayed by now. I only stay overnight on a Saturday and I think its around £10. There are additional costs for various time frames so if its a full day / night for business it may be more than this. Sorry I've not been much help!
