Excellent experience! I do like to get to know the staff where I'm staying, I hope I haven't got anyones name wrong! The first thing was the welcome. George who was booking me in was exceptionally accommodating and warm, very smiley. Throughout my stay he was always helpful. Tayla, duty manager who also worked on reception was brilliantly bubbly and attentive to anything I asked for with regards to my room table bookings, the drinks menu or questions I had about local amenities and activities. Tom another DM always had a spring in his step and was always asking how everyone was. A credit to the hotel. The nights team who greeted me in a morning Vicky (Manager) and Reece were wonderful to see in the morning, always enquiring if I slept well or if I needed anything seeing to. Olly, Steph, Bekkah and Meg were other staff I met at other points through my stay, and consistent with the other staff mentioned always maintained a polite, professional and happy approach to their work. I managed to meet buzzing around one morning Serena the head of cleaning, a completely charming and busy lady, my room always had everything it needed. Considering after asking a few questions the kitchen team is a small one my food was always on point, I only met one Chef, Brenn, but the whole of the kitchen staff and anyone I didn't meet deserves a mention! The breakfast was always plentiful in option (Black pudding on a buffet breakfast is massively impressive to me) a good range of other options if you didn't fancy a full English. Thorough enjoyed my stay, would recommend it to anyone. My bed was comfy, room tidy and the herbal teas at reception which you can take to your room were a welcome addition! Choices of free films on the television in my room, a gym I admittedly didn't use and a free pool table (Although bring your own cue, and watch the cushions, they've lost their bounce over time, unlike the staff). …
My car broke down and the nearest place to stay was this hotel. The receptionist was extremely helpful, finding me solutions and phone numbers. In the end I extended my stay just to enjoy the place, even having the car fixed. Thank you Penta team :)
Have used the hotel for the last few months a number of times. Normally stayed two nights per time. Staff have always been very helpful. Staff work hard. George, Tayla and Reece especially. Rooms are comfy and bed is good. Definitely recommend the hotel,
Even when it is busy, staff always have smiles to give away. The dinner was very tasty, breakfast has plenty of things to choose from. Hotel was easy to find with great car parking. Thanks for everything and see you soon!
Satisfied my expectations and I will stay there again. Bar and restaurant both have nice atmosphere and staff is really friendly. Rooms were clean and quiet. And as a benefit you can use their gym, which is for free.
I’ve stayed at the Penta hotel almost every weekend for 4 months The rooms are comfortable and calm The food is excellent The staff are very polite and always around Would definitely recommend staying there
Really nice staff thanks for the drinks at midnight for NYE. Downstairs is really nice but I wasn’t impressed with the room. No Tv remote but one was found for me, marks on the duvet cover, marks on the skirting board, light didn’t work, useless TV no idea what was going on with the channels, one lift out of order. I’m glad I didn’t pay above £80! I wouldn’t return.
Good location, stayed for a couple of nights due to work and found it very relaxing. Nothing was any bother for the staff on duty, Tayla makes great cocktails and Vicki and Reece on nights are a delight, will definitely stay again. The bed was so comfy.
After a full day Xmas shopping and drinks with friends disaster car wouldn't start. Hubby already had a drink so decided to continue our day... This absolute gem of a place had room for us, welcomed us with all our shopping bags, no overnight bags. So accommodating to us that we think it might make it a regular Christmas tradition for us. See you next year everyone (Thanks hubby for getting car sorted next day, not to self, turn the lights off!!!!)
Visited this hotel on 17th December.stop off point for a major travel company.got there a little late so choice of food was poor.no rolls for soup.main mealwas carnage.no desert (but previous guests had theres) .temp in room would not go above 16 degree's.
