I have not visited for a long time. This used to be a very 'plush/posh' hotel but I was surprised to see how dilapidated things have become. To be fair, there was an afternoon presentation from a local environment group and the function room was in quite good order. There were a lot of people there. Some were in wheelchairs...

Had chips, burger and coffee here and have to say it was particularly unpleasant. The chips were oven chips that hadn't been cooked properly and had gone cold, the burger had chewy bits in and the coffee had a weird smokey taste. It was only cheap but certainly not cheerful. Despite the low price it still wast worth the money.

Please ignore the negative comments, some people expect too much for £40 a night. It's basic but comfortable. Booked for 1 night and stayed for 2 (even when the website said it was fully booked and no rooms available) the awesome staff managed to juggle a few rooms around enabling us to stay an extra night............ well done. Clean towels...

I travel widely but this is the WORST hotel I have every been to. The pictures which have been officially provided are very misleading and properly years out of date You start off in a dangerously unlit carpark (in a build up area) and head to really poor looking flatroof building. On opening the door, you seen a sign saying...

The room I was given stunk of bins, the carpet was sticky and filthy, wallpaper was coming off the walls, the walls were dirty and stained, the shower had no water pressure at all, both the beds were noisy, creaking badly, an external light shone directly into the room through the bathroom, I had to leave the bathroom door open...

Looked dated from the outside and part of the car park was flooded due to large holes in the surface. Inside, it needs some care and attention as it looks unloved and dated. Booking in was quick and efficient and the receptionist wore a convincing smile and was quick to tell us about breakfast etc. However, you should note that...

We spend less than 20minutes here before asking for a refund.it was not what the pictures or website portray. We expected a warm atmosphere, burning log fire, restaurant, nice room etc. Where we could eat relax and spend a chilled out evening. Not so.......At it's best I would describe it as shabby. The paintwork on the window sill in our room...

If my experience can help anyone make a decision... find an alternative place to stay. I stayed at this hotel around 5 years ago, and remembered it as basic but overall did the job fine. It has deteriorated considerably; basic is fine, but filthy is not. The rooms are not clean. There was a large blood stain on the mattress,...

I need a place to stay as I was working late host a boxing show in Manchester, before heading down to Stoke the next day. I booked into the Paddington using a booking app for a double room with breakfast included. I was given a twin room, and no explanation as to the reason why. As I was in a...
