I had been a member here for over 2.5 years, and the gym facilities have been gradually going downhill over this time, broken items not being replaced or repaired even after reporting these to staff over a dozen times (12 months and still not sorted) Poor hygiene in the gents changing facilities, lots of little black flies and not being cleaned adequately.
I put numerous complaints in via feedback cards and to staff, but never any feedback, voiced my opinion of how unclean it is for people to come straight out of the sauna and use the swimming pool as a plunge pool without showering first, but again staff including gym manager not interested. Original gym manager that was there circa 2017 kept it so much better.
What started off as an enjoyable gym membership gradually turned out very disappointing.

Club room OK and clean, dinner was mediocre £18 for 4 King prawns in a sauce which can only be described as milk was poor, one bar person one front of house, no covid track and trace, people was just sitting anywhere they liked a bit un nerving. Waited at least 30 mins for cheesecake which is no blame on the poor member of staff who was running around like a headless chicken, breakfast poor, no hash browns or fruit, toast rock-hard, when we asked for poached or fried we was told they can't due to the current situation apparently??we're talking eggs here not steak, only scrambled on offer. o watered down orange juice was not good, tea and coffee on offe was OK,
We have stayed in 5 different hotels since the industry was allowed to reopen, unfortunately this stay was not great I'm afraid and we've stayed at this hotel numerous times in the past, very dubious about returning

The good: The hotel had a restaurant and a Starbucks in it. The indoor pool was nice as well. The room was a good size and I like the number of USB chargers. Very helpful. The bed was comfortable, and I'm a sucker for a towel warmer. The fish and chips in the restaurant was outstanding.

The not so good: I missed having facial tissue and lotion. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash all come in larger, refillable pumps, but there was no lotion. There were three pillows on the bed, plus the decorative cushions. I could have used another pillow that was feather rather than the large, poofy pillows. Lastly, the self-check made the staff person a bit less friendly. This is the first person you see and sets the tone for the stay, so friendly is important. The bar staff was not friendly either and would rather talk to each other than help you. Remember to order at the bar. There is no table service.

Stayed for a wedding with a newborn baby so decided to stay for ease and comfort and disappointed we didn’t just go home! Bathroom was disgusting. Dirty room. Toilet stunk of urine and bath was grubby. Towels were covered in brown stains! Looked like fake tan but certainly shouldn’t be using brown stained white towels in so called 4* hotel. Noise from the rooms across discussing drug taking, tried to report to night reception but no one answered calls, went down and waited 5 mins and no one came. By this point we just went to sleep as the party across the hall went out. Of course returned at 3am stomping and laughing and shouting in the hallway. Made a complaint via email and told someone would be in touch, had to chase up and then I finally received an email to say I used a staff discount code and to send a payslip! I replied to ask what this had to do with anything regarding my complaint and that I was given the code as part of the wedding and if this code shouldn’t have been used then that’s up to the member of staff who gave it out to wedding guests. Regardless the hotel is not up to scratch and needs to work on cleanliness and customer service or if it can’t be bothered then drastically drop its prices and star rating.

Positives: Checking in & out was very easy. The location is great with the town centre very close & the windowsill was a nice feature in the room as it was big enough to sit on & look out but unfortunately these are the only good things to say. The room was smaller than expected with a very disappointing view (a big air vent & pipes.) The air conditioning wasn’t effective & the windows didn’t open wide enough so despite having them open for the entirety of our stay it was too hot & uncomfortable. We tried to turn the heating down & change the air conditioning but it made no difference. The drawers were stiff & hard to open as it didn’t have outward handles & only had one set on one side of the bed which wasn’t ideal for 2 guests. The TV had limited channels & didn’t have any “smart TV” features despite saying so & we also received a noise complaint at 11pm so had to turn the TV off despite having it down low which made me very anxious & on edge about making any noise at night incase of disturbing someone else (I read reviews the next day complaining about noise with one being able to hear someone snoring in the next room which suggests the walls to be too thin.) The free village Wifi was fine for me but slow for my friend. The bed was okay but the duvet & pillows were thin. The right bedside lamp was broken & so was the sink plug so we had to hold it up whilst the water was running else it couldn’t drain. The toilet roll was very thin & rough. The room was quite clean other than finding a broken pen under the bed whilst looking for an earring & the decor felt old & cheap with dim lighting. We ordered room service that didn’t arrive so we went downstairs but couldn’t find a staff member so ended up having to call the kitchen to remind them of our order. Once it arrived (“basket” of doughnuts) it was in a round cardboard box & tasted okay but nothing special. That’s the only food we ordered. We also left a “fresh towels please” sign on the door whilst we were out for the day but never received them. The quality & size of the room & the bedroom/bathroom facilities & features were very disappointing & absolutely not worth the price. I booked it as a big treat for my friends birthday but was better off booking a holiday inn as the ones I’ve stayed in are much nicer & much better value for money (including free access to the pool rather than having to pay extra.) Overall it was a very disappointing stay, i’m shocked it’s a 4 star & I won’t be staying again.

Gave this hotel another go after a previous bad stay. Never again !! Kettle in room didn't work. Tried to get an evening meal and drinks in pub, no space any where. It was so busy , loud with people watching football. Wouldn't like to take kids in there.
Returned to room after going out of hotel to get food and drinks, to a sleepless night. Could here people's conversations from adjoining rooms, what sounded like a herd of elephants above. Oh we were in club room in quiet area so we were told when checking in. At 3.40am we were woken by drunk group who were up and down corridor, slamming doors, shouting and then music at 5am. I got up to look for phone to call reception but there wasn't one? Called from my mobile and finally got through after going through numerous options. Someone came and next door were told. Finally fell back to sleep to be woken again by fire alarm which was activated from next door.

Breakfast was ok, waited around 10 minutes for poached eggs, and Luke warm flask of water for tea.

This hotel is used a lot by people going into Warrington clubbing and is not the place to stay if you have a family or a couple wanting a relaxing evening. Such a shame as it could be so nice.

On check out I informed lady at desk to be told your feedback will be taken on board. Rubbish the last bad stay there was a similar situation. My complaint was made direct to manager not on a review and nothing has changed. I understand it's out of there control people being drunk and disrespectful, but when people come in late pre warn them that noise should be kept to a minimum.

Would never return again or wouldn't recommend unless you want an all night party. Really not good enough for just short of £100 a night.

The hotel is in a good location, just a 10minute drive away from the train station, the hotel has its own restaurant and starbucks, a spa and fully equipped gym that has excellent group classes you can access for an additional fee of £12 per day. Only stayed for half a day so didn't get a chance to try the gym though!

The hallways of the hotel are very dark , the rooms are somewhat modern but pretty small, bed and pillows too firm and not comfortable.

Be careful when using the shower, the bathtub is quite steep and slippery with no handles to hold onto anywhere. Don't hold on to the glass partition part of the shower as it isn't fixed to the tub & is movable.

Nice hotel. Modern and clean and tidy.
Starbucks on site is a nice touch and the bar/restaurant is very lively at the weekend.
As part of our stay we had breakfast both mornings which was okay. There was a good selection of hot and cold food, but the sausages were poor quality and the bacon very fatty.
Chose not to dine in the restaurant in the evening as the choices were quite limited, burgers and steak and wraps, mainly fast food and the prices expensive.

Spa and gym facilities are very good.
You have to pay to park during the week but it is free after 5 on Friday through to Monday.
Rooms are modern, large and well equipped.

Only issue with our stay was that we were woken at 2am on Sunday morning due to a domestic on the floor above. Doors slamming open and shut and stomping around for 30 mins. This is obviously a one off and not the fault of the hotel so would most likely return.

Stayed in this hotel a few times in past and has been good, I spent 3 nights here it was the worse experience ever and didn’t have a good night sleep! Hotel room is dirty not ONCE anyone came to hoover change bedding fill tea bags absolutely nothing! First night checked in wanted a shower one towel?! So I had to share my towel you book a twin room knowing TWO people and one towel?!

Great to see a kettle NO bottled water no cups no mugs, had to buy a mug with a bottle of water from the garage

Which hotel allows children running up and down screaming at 2am! Literally had to check my phone a multiple time and it was 2am running screaming slamming doors and adults laughing!, worse night ever spoke to them in the morning was told why didn’t I go down and speak to them it was 2.30am had my pjs on NO PHONE IN A HOTEL room which I would have used ! Heard base music was the loudest night of my life

Second night two fully grown men arguing, a few times I looked up to see they were not in my room!! The walls seem to be paper thin!! Absolutely have no idea what guests are checked in zero consideration or hotel etiquette! Where is staff security to be monitoring the night time madness?

After a rough night went Starbucks to get a coffee downstairs waited and waited and waited went across to restraunt asking is anyone there a man comes running across sorry we are short staff was helping them.. great to help but come on some of us are in a rush and it’s not acceptable having a Starbucks with no one manning it?

I need to recover from the lack of sleep in the past few days.

Standards have took a nose dive and I can’t see myself coming back here anytime soon!

Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to write this very detailed review of your recent stay. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your most recent stay with us. Whilst the hotel have made numerous brand changes over the last few years such as the removal of the phones moving the communication links to be completed via a live messaging service direct to the reception team the room should be equipped with mugs for the team tray. I apologise that this was not present on arrival, the team would have provided you with one had you notified them of the error. We do operate a low tolerance noise policy at the hotel and will evict repeat offenders as we understand the importance of the a good nights sleep. Due to the events and banqueting business only recently returning to the industry at high numbers I will revitalise this policy with the team to ensure noise levels are managed. The team are working very tightly together and supporting each other throughout the hotel working across departments where necessary; I apologise that on this occasion this resulted in you having to wait to be served. I am of course disappointed to see that you feel you would not return based on your most recent stay with us; I truly hope you change your mind. Kind Regards Louise Milne Hotel Manager

I don't usually like to be too negative but I have to say this hotel is terrible.
I am a regular user of the Hilton group hotels and as such am a quote well versed in a range of hotels and services at various prices.

I booked Village hotel direclty on the website, which was simple ebough, the room cost was £103 including gym and breakfast (or so I thought!).

On arrival I checked in using the self check in system, it is gimmicky and anyone without experience of using Apps might struggle.
The chap on reception was helpful enough though so go it done.
The room was stifflingly hot, but was clean and had enough basics to be ok for the one night stay.

I was informed that I'd need to download an app to order a meal, I asked if i could just order now and have it sent to my room (it is still only possible to eat outside *pandemci*). This is not possible apparently .

Having evetnually joined the wifi (the free service is hardly usable as they have a premium paid service that is clearly what they want you to use). I downloaded the app, started to go through the order process then get hit with multipe questions just about stopping at inside leg measurement, bearing in mind I am resident at the hotel and have just compelted half these details to get checked in and the other half to get on the wifi.
After about 20 mins of trying (the app crashed twice) I managed to order my meal, buyt this time it's nearly 9pm and I'm getting hungry. It was inclear if the meal would be delviered to my room or I was to pick it up.. i went to pick it up andwas told very clearly I should have waited!

The meal was ok, pretty typical chain pub type stuff, all very expensive for the quality.

The airconditioning wasn't working so i reported it in the app as instructed (you can't talk to a staff member, it's all via the app and a bot answers or rather doesn't).
I could hear every word and movement of the chap in the next door room, his TV sounded like it was haning on the wall in my room (not his fault, just paper walls).

The next I went downstairs to collect my 'in room' breakfast, nothing was available, the onlyo member of staff was a rather shouty lady who told me the only coffee was the coffee in my room. I'm not a snob but instant coffee in a £100 per night hotel is just not good enough.
I had to buy a coffee from Starbucks (located in the reception area) for £3.10.

I chose this hotel due to it's proximity to my meeting but lesson learnt, in the future I shall stick to my tried and trusted, human faced, personal touch brands. That at least appear to care about the people staying with them and cost a lot less per night to boot!

Very very dissapointing indeed
