The Kings Head is a beautiful historic Grade II listed former coaching house ideally situated in the heart of Warrington's bustling town centre directly opposite Central Railway Station with regular services to Manchester & Liverpool and just 50 yards walk from the main bus station offering services to all of Cheshire's Attractions. Bank Quay Railway Station is only half a mile away and offers services to London, Birmingham, Chester and Scotland. The Halliwell Jones Stadium...home of the Warrington Wolves RLFC is just a short walk away and The Kings Head has become the hub for both home and visiting fans alike on matchdays generating a celebratory atmosphere for which Rugby League is synonymous. The pub itself boasts a generous walled beer garden which hosts popular live music events most weekends and the bar area is well appointed and spacious. The rooms, which have recently benefitted from substantial refurbishment, are simple, but clean and tidy. All boast a flat screen TV's and tea making facilities. All rooms are en-suite and the bathrooms too are all completely new with both a decent sized bath and a power shower. There is ample car parking both on site and within yards of the pub.

Staff very friendly and welcoming and great atmosphere. The locals were great company too. Traditional English breakfast was good. When I arrived was a bit of a farce in relation to key to my room was a long wait to check in properly while they tried to locate key to my room. Tables not very clean at breakfast doesn't take much to give 'em a quick wipe and keep the tables nice, clean and presentable for your guests. No replacement towels in bedroom. But the biggest disappointment and what I found absolutely astonishing was that I even had to ask for replacement toilet roll for my room but when I did ask during my final evening there the two young girls behind the bar seemed totally and completely disinterested!!! I got up very early in the morning and I asked a gentleman member of staff on duty for some toilet roll as I had run out in my bedroom and by this time I really needed to use the loo. There was no toilet roll left in the gent's customer toilets either... This guy on duty seemed to take an age just to get me a few bits of toilet roll from what I gathered was the ladies customer toilets then said that he was sorry, that's all they had and that they were expecting a delivery. I just said don't bother and went to buy some toilet roll from Asda round the corner. I mean a place providing accommodation to people and something that is a basic and an essential requirement like toilet roll they run out of... What??? Well it's a good job I didn't need to go for a number two in the middle of the night isn't it?!!! To be honest I have stayed at much worse places though. The Kings Head was handy as right directly opposite the main train station and as we're in a cost of living crisis it was all about saving pennies but to be honest with hindsight I should have forked out a bit more to stay at one of the local Travelodges. Shame I had to write a negative review because I liked Andy who runs the place, he was a good host and very friendly.

The pub is ideally located for the Central Station and Rugby ground and quite easy to find.Just follow signs for the Central St.Free parking is available on first come, first served basis behind the pub, next to the Polski Sklep next door. We paid £72 including breakfast which is great value locally with many rivals charging exhorbitant rates and for Warrington this is difficult to justify. We stayed here because i had to pick up my partner from Manchester Airport. Both only approx 13/14 miles away. Yes,the Pub is a tad noisy, busy and rough and ready but i got a warm welcome from a lovely blond girl who checked me in.We had Room 9 on the top floor which does insulate you from the noisy bar downstairs. Some folk on here complain about sleeping difficulties due to the noise of the bar and two function rooms adjacent on the ground floor.Good news was the music is turned off around midnight,so my suggestion is to watch a bit of TV and to try the local Indian which is rerrific just 350 yards away(Ozmi).i.e.come back late to the pub!! Its definitely not the Ritz but our room was clean, great hot shower and a very edible breakfast the next day.

Met some friends at Central Station pre match and this was the nearest pub. I think they must clear the main dining room of chairs as it was cavernous inside. Loud music and full of rugby fans. Heatwave and they now have an 'astro-turfed' area alongside the hotel/ pub with picnic bench seating so perfect for a pint outside. No complaints, suited us perfectly, ideal for the rugby.

Stayed for 2 nights and on the second I had to take sleeping tablets to be in with any chance of sleep and even then I was woken up by the fire alarm as some drunk had opened the fire door. The room was dated, dirty and beds were really comfortable. There was a stain on the floor by the bed and matching one on the mattress where someone had obviously thrown up. Cups were filthy, I left them to soak in the bathroom sink and they turned the water brown. The shower pulsed between hot, cold and off. The light for the sign shone straight into the bedroom where there were no curtains just a poorly fitted blind. The noise from the rowdy drunks outside went on until early in the morning and with single glazed windows we may as well have been trying to sleep on the pavement.o didn’t expect the Ritz for the price we paid but did expect it to be clean and have a decent nights sleep.

Stayed here one night on our way to Wales and it was awful. Very basic room with no furniture, no pictures on the wall, no full length mirror, and bar didn’t serve food, though we weren’t told in advance. Although the en suite was fairly newly refurbished, the shower was intermittent, coming on in bursts then going off, toilet seat loose, and shelf at 45degree angle. The windows were draughty and the orange lit up sign directly outside our window made the room very bright. There were just no niceties or comforts, like biscuits or nice bed covers. The pub itself is in a bit of a waste land and we felt a bit uneasy about leaving our car on the rough ground next door. The staff were very nice though and breakfast was good, though served in the Pizza place next door. Won’t be staying here again.

Pre booked no problem. Looked after our bikes in a safe place. Good friendly service behind the bar. Room clean, basic, great V for Money. Stairs to climb, had private shower room, towels nice. Staff on checking in were great. Locals ok too. great for the odd night. Bit of noise from building site but no real issues for us.

Great value.twin room for £50 B&B Rooms was small and clean. Lovely bathroom with large shower. Tea and coffee making facilities. No hot water in sink but we just boiled the kettle to have a wash. Could hear some outside noise but wasnt terrible. We were at back of the pub so not road side. Breakfast was great and pizza was tasty and a bargain price

Great customer service by the staff, can not fault the lass who works on a Monday and Darren is a top top fella. Stayed here 3rd till the 6th of August, room was great, (Other than we only had 2 TV channels, and the shower took 10 minutes to work), but other than that it was spot on. Stayed here again 10th till the 13th, was put in room 11 which is a lot smaller to last weeks room... TV doesn’t even work and the shower head hold is broken. 100% recommend staying here if you are working away, as it being bang above the bar, but other than that I’d maybe reconsider.

I'm not really sure how to rate this place. If the outside noise hadn't been a factor, I'd give it two thumbs but after two nights here I was still exhausted from our transatlantic flight and lack of sleep due to the noise. We were in room 8 which had a window overlooking the street and the noise from outside was loud and into the wee hours of the morning, 2:30am and people were outside screaming at each other. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night, which are obviously busy pub nights. The crowd inside the pub was wall to wall people, one night was a Manchester v. Manchester match. We thought that after the pub closed that all would be well but that wasn't the case. Obviously street noise is outside the control of the owners but the windows are not double windows and at one point I checked to make sure that the window wasn't open it was so loud. Now for the good, the included breakfast was outstanding and made to order. The staff was lovely. Our room was up two flights of stairs, we checked in a little too early to get the room but they brought our luggage up for us when the room was ready. The room is a little spartan (no decoration) but honestly, that's the last thing I care about when booking a hotel. The bed was comfortable enough, the shower and bathroom were fine and very clean. The location was very convenient for getting from Manchester airport and for going to Liverpool during the day. To get to Salisbury, we had to walk about 15 minutes to get to the other train station and it was a 10 minute walk to Parr Hall where we saw a couple of shows. There may be rooms on the back side of the hotel, if I were to come back, I'd ask for one and bring ear plugs.
