We use this hotel when we visit family in the area wherever we can. Staff are friendly and attentive, the hotel is very clean throughout, the rooms are a good comfortable size and the beds are super comfortable. Considering the hotel is by the M6 there is no traffic noise. The blackout curtains are excellent.

I stayed at this location for a week for work. Unfortunately just prior to my stay additional restrictions due to Co Vid 19 were implemented regarding the provision of evening meals. The breakfasts were of the usual high standard and whilst it is table only service and the buffet is no longer an option, there were no restrictions on what you could order, depending on whether you had opted for the the full or continental breakfast. The evening menu options provided by Premier Inn were limited to say the least and whilst we did try them on the first night, the best option was a takeaway.
The staff, Sarah Wright in particular, made our stay. Her chatty and personable disposition together with her knowledge of the area really helped brighten what could have been a dismal stay.
The rooms were to the usual comfy standard and despite it's very close proximity to the M6 I was not disturbed by the motorway traffic.
There was hand sanitiser dispensers and notices requesting their use and the wearing of face coverings in communal areas everywhere. The staff all wore face shields and some also gloves. Considering this was an area of increased risk I felt really quite safe.

We had to go from Scotland to Irlam in Manchester for a family funeral during lockdown We stayed at this hotel and were greeted warmly and all Covid 19 measures were observed and adhered to. Hand gel was available and staff wore face masks. The room was lovely and spacious, very clean, the bed was comfortable and there were adequate tea and coffee making facilities, the en-suite was very clean and had a good shower, fresh towels were also supplied as were toiletries and a hair dryer. There were ample power points and hanging space for clothes. A very comfortable stay and at £35 a night for the room, excellent value for money. We will definitely book this Hotel again. and have told Friends and family to give Premier Inn a shot.

Spent a very pleasant night in this hotel. You really couldn't hear the motorway on the doorstep. The bar staff were lovely and the food was great. We ordered a plate of tandoori style food and a side salad and said we would share it. They were happy to let us do that. We accompanied it with an excellent bottle of wine and the buy two glasses get the rest free option made it amazing value. Would definitely go back.

We needed to break a long journey from the South West of England to Edinburgh, and chose this location as being approx half way.
Easy to find (close to the M6 motorway) and booking in was efficient, easy and welcoming, as was the room and included facilities - tea/coffee etc., and as most Premier Inn rooms are identical in layout it was easy to 'settle in'. - An excellent evening meal was provided in the adjacent 'Beefeater' restaurant, at excellent value by virtue of our booking a 'meal deal' when making the reservations.
The bed was large and comfy and a good nights sleep meant we were ready to continue our journey refreshed, after tucking in to a full English breakfast, again in the adjacent 'Beefeater' restaurant.
We repeated the exercise on the return journey, and will do so again, when we next trek back to Scotia for Christmas and the New year !!

We stayed one night in a family room on our way up to Scotland. Lovely room, clean with plenty of room for all of us. Breakfast was delicious - we had two adult full English and the two children’s breakfasts were free. Good selection of well cooked food. Vegetarian and vegan options. My daughter says she especially enjoyed the weetabix and strawberry yogurt. I thought the porridge was delicious, very creamy. Service was fantastic - the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful (thank you Sarah!). Will definitely come back :)

The welcoming team were very friendly and helpful and made the check-in experience super easy. Easy navigation around the hotel, but jees when the door to the room was open it was like we had walked into an oven. The room felt like it was 30°C+ with no ability to cool the room down, with windows that hardly open, no air-con which we did know about prior, but heat that you just struggle to fall asleep in, and then are restless all night, waking up every hour or two for drink and a cooldown.

The breakfast team and food was fantastic very much recommend the food. Check-out was easy by just dropping the room card in a box, and leaving.

The staff tried but there is no room for allergies or special dietry requirments. Had to be quite firm about cleaning with my room having a full bin, not much fun when you are there all week, Nothing to eat and had to source food outside the hotel. Overall wouldnt recommend unless a one night stay, Unpleassant experience. Bedding not changed all week, despite signs all over the hotel insisting we can rely on cleaniness. Vending machines out of order or only accepting cash in our COVID world, Would prefer a 150 mile commute next time. Home today, hungry, tired and looking forward to a clean bed!

We (2 adults and a baby) stayed in this hotel for one night as a mid-journey stop off. I had indicated when booking that I needed a cot for an infant. The room was on the top floor 5 from the end which was inconvenient with all the things we had to bring in for the baby.

The surfaces in the room were clean, however the walls were dusty, particularly above the bed, and had cobwebs in a couple of locations. The bed was clean and comfortable. We had requested a cot which was in the room however was completely unusable for our 9 week old baby, firstly the sleeping level was almost at the floor so I wouldn’t have been able to reach far enough to put the baby down gently (I am average height for a woman). Secondly there was no mattress, only the hard base of the cot with a folded up sheet on top (current guidance for sleeping babies is that there should be no loose bedding). Our baby ended up sleeping in her pram.

We ate dinner in the hotel, the food was average as you would expect. The staff were super friendly and helpful, they gave us some ice to take up to the room the keep the baby’s milk cold over night.

In fairness to the staff on duty we did not raise any of the concerns that night. Mostly as when we had checked in we were told the hotel was completely full, so we knew they would not be able to change us to another room and thought that if there were any more suitable cots they would have used that in the first place.

Although the room was not super expensive (£73.45 for the night) I would have expected it to be a bit cleaner and for the cot provided to be in line with current guidance for safe sleeping for babies and small children.
