If I could rate Tavistock House Hotel 5++ I would. What a superbly beautifully decorated, extremely clean and fantastic Hosts this Hotel is. If you are looking for something that is welcoming and stunning look no further. Brad & Gill have renovated this to the highest standards thinking of every little detail and they are so welcoming and helpful it was a delightful stay. Nothing was any trouble and they even have an honesty fully stocked bar in the lounge which was wonderful for us when we returned one evening. The breakfast is divine and again nothing was any bother. The rooms are beautiful, very very clean and Covid rules through the House are tastefully adhered to. Our ensuite was very roomy with a double sized wet room/shower.When you arrive and walk up the beautifully maintained garden & path there are chairs where you can sit for coffee or drinks which again are modern and a great area. Cannot praise Brad & Gill enough from my first phone call asking for information to the moment we left they were amazing. If you are looking for somewhere which is homely, modern, extremely clean and truly friendly then this is the one for you. Thank you Brad and Gill for a wonderful stay, we will see you again soon.

Hotel's Favourite
This has simply got to be one of the best small hotels in Europe and I've stayed in loads of them all over the place. You walk through the door and you're greeted by the amazingly friendly Brad, proprietor, restorer, builder and sometime golfer. Later on you'll meet Gill, his wife, just as friendly. So seeing as it's their hotel this has to be a good start and it never wavers. The hotel is spotlessly clean and ever so stylish in an understated but very modern looking way. And, unlike so many small hotels, entirely linked to the modern world in terms of internet connection, decoration and furniture. Evening meals are not available but breakfasts are excellent and, if you need an evening meal, try The Cornish just around the corner - very good food here! Terrific site for exploring West Devon and East Cornwall. Simply couldn't recommend it more highly!

We stayed for 5 nights at this hotel in the Luxury King En-suite room. Room was very comfortable including the bed with a nice bathroom. Owners Brad and Gill very nice and helpful. I would question whether this is a hotel probably more B&B, there was an honesty bar however there was no real comfortable place to sit and have a drink, either outside where tables and chairs were provided or in the centre of the breakfast room which was not too appealing. If the weather was poor you would take your drink to your room particularly if others were sitting in there as there were only 4 chairs. Breakfast was very good and we were well looked after by Gill. Unfortunately we had a rather unpleasant smell from the bathroom for 3/4 nights which we understand was from the drains however the last 24 hours we didn’t notice it. Good place to stay, comfortable and helpful.

Response from Bradley Walker, Owner at Tavistock House Hotel
Responded 1 week ago
Good Evening Ruby Wax, as always we appreciate our guests leaving a review about the hotel. A couple of points that you have made I would like to make a reply. Firstly we are a small 7 bedroom Town house Hotel and have been trading this way for several years now, we are licenced and provide a small honesty bar which has a good selection of beers, spirits and wines. We also provide a provision of food throughout the day and evening when requested in addition to staff being here 24 hours a day. This is all clearly stated on the website and we operate accordingly. Furthermore I am glad you enjoyed the complimentary drinks on my newly built patio to the front of the house. Many thanks for staying with us and we hope to see you again in the future. Immaculate room with all the facilities you could reasonably expect. Large comfy bed, good shower and toiletries, tea/ coffee etc, and posh biscuits! Also a quiet fridge with real milk provided, and bottled water. Owners Bradley and Gill couldn’t have been more pleasant and helpful. Assisted us with restaurant bookings (recommended). Altogether a positive experience and would definitely return.

This is has now been our second stay here now and the B&B gets better every time we come. From last year to this year, the owners strive to always improve as they recently completed a new front garden and refurbished the dining room. This is testament to the owners on how much they love their property and wanting to improve the guests stay. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, modern and has all the amenities that you require. The accommodation is the same as a 5 star hotel. The breakfast is high quality and has a good variety. We were happening to be checking out early and the owners were more than accommodating to serve our breakfast early. Overall, the best B&B you’ll ever stay in. We will be returning next year.
