The review rating is for the camping facilities We camped overnight on the grass bank behind the Pub. . The area we camped on is flat grass and well maintained. The facilities provided are poor due to the fed to use the shower £1 for 2 minutes shower time. There was also no hot water on the basin together with...

I recommend staying here both nights. Car shuttle the canoe to Hereford on day 1 and return to pick it up on the bus on evening day 1 (bus stop is right outside the hotel) . Day2 paddle to Monmouth and pick up car via the bus - brilliant. The hotel is a budget room but it is clean and...

Had heard good reviews about this place through friends and family so decided to give it a go for my birthday meal. Whilst the service was good we found the portions small and quite expensive. Not much of a pub grub choice for a Sunday either, but luckily we were a roast and burger type of crowd. What we had...

We chose the White Lion in Ross as a convenient mid-way meeting point for lunch and to enjoy its river views. The couple running the White Lion were charming and took good care of us (and our friends' little toddler!) The menu is reasonably priced pub-type food, with a wide range of choices, which we enjoyed from our table at...

We (myself, my wife, my seven year old son and three year old daughter) were traveling back from Hereford on a Sunday afternoon when we stopped off at the White Lion. From the very moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome.. we were seated quickly and waited on like kings and queens. The children were given...

Found this small pub on the banks of the river Wye and while in need of a bit of tender care and refurb their pub lunches were both excellent value and quality. The fish pie and Lansagne were our choice and were really good. Service was very friendly,South African's running the place which probably explains the good food!

Met some friends here for a meal.....think it was in the middle of changing hands so new landlord I suspect. Food was good, good portions, too much salad though. Not many people in this usual buzzing pub but the service was good and it wasn't too expensive, the beer is excellent. The only think I would say is get some...

We have been to this pub for lunch a few times now. It is in a wonderful position right on the River Wye and we were blessed with a lovely day. The service was very efficient and very friendly. The food was very good and copious. My husband had the some cooked ham egg and chips but couldn't finish it....

A lovely friendly relaxing riverside pub. Excellent food .....very large meals...beauitful setting right on the river bank of the River Wye. For birthdays & special occasions we pick riparian pubs and this one is one of the best we have been too. Great atmosphere.....campers on the riverbank, local over 50's football team, young lads, workmen & couples. Just lovely....cant wait...
