The King’s Head is a lovely place to stay. If you’ve never been before, it’s worth knowing that it is tucked away on the street that runs behind Ross-on-Wye’s ancient Market House. The car park is through a narrow archway just after the pub. There is a covered section inside a former warehouse. You can enter the pub from the... More

We stayed here whilst in Ross for a friend's 50th. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel authentic with many of its original features. Room spacious and clean with comfy big bed. We also had an air con unit in room. Great breakfast. All in all to be recommended and would choose to book here again if needed.

A lovely old coaching inn with car park behind. We had a dog friendly room on the first floor. This was of reasonable size together with four poster bed and air con. The ensuite bathroom was very modern. If you wish to eat with your dogs you have the restaurant menu in the library which was very pleasant. The food... More

This was our first visit to the area. My fiance and I ordered some bread which was light fresh and home made. I ordered the hake which was delicious. My fiance ordered the Hereford burger. It was very tasty and filling as it comes with thick chips, celeriac slaw ,onion rings ,salad and a hash brown. We shared a desert... More

Early check in was not a problem, friendly welcome and a fiver voucher was nice, room was old fashioned but clean with a large comfortable bed, breakfast and dinner was excellent, good wine and a decent bar with a good choice of beers and spirits, town itself looked a bit tired with a lot of charity shops but the views... First class staff at this hotel from reception, resteraunt, housekeeping, the food menu was excellent and I chose the home made steak and wine pie with mixed vegetables accompanied with chips.Excellent wine menu and I would recommend the Candidato Tempranillo "Barrica3"2013 Castilla.Spain.Well run hotel and reasonable priced rooms which were spotlessly clean as was the bathroom....Room 15 highly recommend...

We call here for lunch a couple of times a year, always a friendly welcome and good food at a reasonable price, if driving one can also park ones car which is a bonus. Prices are less expensive to mid- range and family are welcome.

Visited en route to a fishing trip with friends. The hotel is clean and tidy and the rooms are ok. The staff are really nice and hard working. The bar staff are really pleasant. The only negative points are the stairs leading to the bedrooms are a little precarious. Not surprising though given the age and history of the building.
