This hotel/pub is in need of a revamp the room was clean but very cold in welcoming, the staff were very efficient which made up for the lack of warmth the hotel gave. The food was ok the restaurant area was cold and had no character at all don't be deceived by the pictures you see. Good place for business... More

The light in the bathroom did not work. The shower would not work properly. The bedroom door did not lock from the inside. Steam train passing every so often by my window was not told about it. Bed was very low to the floor. would not stop there again or recommend to anyone.

very clean and cosy rooms. Little out of town but not really an issue for me as I drive. I asked to chnage my room as the next door room was noisy and was given another room with an upgrade to double free of charge. Very helpful staff. Will stay there again

Well where do I start. When I arrived the hotel looked a bit run down and neglected. I booked in and was given a key to room 25( you do not want to stay in this room) the room was over the bar and I could tell what drinks people was ordering. I could also hear a droning sound in... More

Have stayed here several times and have been impressed with how it has improved over the years. M y room was spacious and the en-suite brilliant, clean and everything there for people who may have forgotten to pack toiletries.Unfortunately, the chef was poorly for my stay so had to go into town for an evening meal. Found an Italian called... More

Excellent breakfast BUT hot water dangerously hot and no plug in wash basin to allow mixing with cold. Hot water pipe in shower dangerous to touch, and no grab rail in shower or shelf for soap, shampoo etc. Individually, staff good.

An indifferent place. Reception and bar is OK, rooms are clean and comfortable but very dated. The location isn't great; it's a bit of a trek to the town centre if you're on foot. There are better places nearby I'm sure.

Hotel is in need of modernisation, as for the shower, it was merely a trickle of water. Restaurant was closed for a private function which we weren't told about until our arrival. It served a purpose for a place to stay. I wouldn't be keen to revisit anytime soon.

A hotel in desperate need of a refurbishment! Tired and outdated interior. Very noisy rooms. Your bed bounces up and down when someone passes by in the corridor. Yet, for 50 pounds a night just about right
