Stayed here to break up a long journey from Aberdeen to Manchester, randomly found it on Google Maps and I am so glad we did!! Excellent food both breakfast and dinner were superb, the room we stayed in was lovely, with an extra king size bed! Mark and Morag made us feel right at home, ever so chatty and the...

Randomly picked this B&B using google maps to break up a long journey. We had no idea of what the inn or the village would be like. Within minutes of parking up we were in conversation with one of the locals who gave us some advise on the local area. Another local advised us to eat at the inn, as...

Our second stay here on one of our long north/south journeys. Welcomed like long-lost friends, excellent new beers to try, food still spot on. Mark and Morag are lovely people and their Inn reflects that. It's like coming home!

A nice place, warm hosts and good food. Could one ask for more? Perhaps better broadband, but, hopefully, one would not need it too often during visits. I'll happily go back: not a bad destination for people breaking the journey to the Highlands.....

We stay here once a year to break the journey from Surrey to Inverness. We have reviewed several times over the years so I won't add anything more other than to say we received the same levels of friendly hosting from Mark and Morag and that the standards of food, drink and accomodfation are as high as ever.

Following Christmas with elderly relations we brought ourselves back to sanity by giving ourselves Dinner Bed and Breakfast here. Hosts very relaxed and welcoming, the room traditionally furnished (no flat pack here) to a very high standard, the kingsize bed and duvet were seriously comfortable. The meal was superb and the dining area although small was very comfortable and busy.(book...

From reading previous reviews I was certainly not disappointed by any aspect of our stay in The Hightae Inn. From the moment we arrived until the second we left I have nothing but good to say about both the Inn and the owners & staff. Our room was bright, airy and impeccable and ideally suited for our overnight stay with...

We stayed at The Hightae for one night in Nov on our way back down south after a business show in Glasgow. We received a warm welcome from Mark and our room was lovely, cosy and comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our evening meal was heavenly as was breakfast the next morning. All in all an excellent experience which we plan...

I found this hotel purely by chance and I am so glad that I did. I stayed for one night on 11/12/13. The room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. I arrived earlier than I expected (before 5) and was warmly welcomed by Mark. I ate in the bar and all I can say it that Morag's cooking is to...

We enjoyed our stay here, but were bothered by noises from the room above. The Inn is old and as a result the sound of footsteps, etc were a bit of an annoyance. The owners were very hospitable, but don't try to check in before 500pm. We were turned away when we showed up at 400pm, so we sat in...

Many thanks for taking the time to post your review - we're sorry it wasn't a perfect stay for you. You're right - it is an old building and as you went to bed early, you heard the occupants of the room above settling down at night. With regards to arrival times, we do state on our website and via...

“On a practical note, it was impossible to fill the kettle under the tap in the bathroom basin. Also, fresh milk in the room was provided on arrival, but not available for the early morning cuppa as the owners were not around to request it; uht milk would have been acceptable, but not supplied.”
