Easily found off the motorway, we were warmly welcomed and shown to a large room with dual aspect over the front of the property. Views to hillside with cattle grazing. Food was very good in the bar, and the dogs could sit with us there, away from the restaurant. Breakfast was prompt and plentiful. A good one night stopover for...

Hotel never fails to tick all the boxes on ease of booking (we always book direct), welcome, service, food, ambiance, breakfast, rooms amenities, car parking and wine choice. A family run hotel where you feel like royalty. Very extensive menu and can cater for all dietary requirements. Traditional and modern rooms with everything you need. We had a 4 poster! Easy...

After driving for over 10 hours heading down to Yorkshire from Ullapool we stopped at Lockerbie, looking for somewhere to eat and park up the campervan for the night. Just managed to find Somerton House Hotel 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. The staff were so very welcoming and the food we had was just wonderful. When asked about drinks,...

We arrived at the Somerton House and instantly felt like royalty, Alex asked if we'd like our bags carried upstairs and told us not to hesitate if there was anything we needed. The room (No3) was immaculate and very modern, and had a delightful view from the side window. We were in Lockerbie to visit the Pan Am 103 Garden...

We stayed at Somerton House for a couple of nights. The wait staff were welcoming, extremely friendly and efficient. We loved the ambience of the old house, although we were situated in one of the more modern rooms, which was fine though a little bland. The decor of the old house is stunning and totally worth the visit just to...

We stayed here in March 2017 as we had a wedding to attend in nearby Springkell. We were warmly greeted by Alec and shown to room number 9. The room was very spacious with a large bed. Room facilities included free wifi (which was very consistent across the hotel), tea, coffee and biscuits and bathroom including toilet, bath and shower....

We stayed at Somerton House Hotel when we visited Lockerbie recently for a family celebration. The welcome was excellent and the level of service throughout our visit was friendly without being overly attentive. The dinner was really lovely and all served well even though we were a table of 10. We were in room 8, which was extremely comfortable and...

The hotel is a beautiful Victorian house with lovely decor, and we received a friendly welcome. However, in the evening when we tried to run a bath, we discovered there was no pressure to the tap, and 20 minutes later all we had was six inches of tepid water. We tried instead to have showers the next morning only to...

Just finished a delicious Sunday roast that couldn't be faulted. Everything was perfect and hot. Can't understand why it's so quiet here when the meals are great. Even the veggies were cooked perfectly!

Our room was a huge disappointment. I booked a contemporary room, but the room we were given was very outdated and in need of a complete make-over. It also, had few of the features listed on our email booking confirmation. There was no iPod docking station, DVD player, coffee machine or iron and ironing board. The bathroom was awful. The...

Friendly and professional hotel that caters to all. During the week we have a regular business trade that takes advantage of all the mod cons, including full wi-fi coverage, in stylish and relaxing surroundings. We are excellently located for all local companies and just over an hours journey to Glasgow and Edinburgh.
