My colleague and I stayed for one night in this beautiful B&B. When you are travelling lots with work it's amazing how a few home comforts can make your trip so much more enjoyable. We were welcomed with a smile and some homemade tiffin! Great restaurant recommendations, amazing breakfast in the morning and super comfy bed. Cannot recommend this B&B...

We had a fantastic stay at Straigona! We immediately felt right at home thanks to the warm and friendly welcome from Julie. She was so helpful with good advice on what to see and when, where to eat, how to get there, etc. She made dinner reservations for us and packed us a fabulous picnic lunch for our day out....

Thank you so much for your kindness, knowing that the weather was absolutely terrible and that I was really scared of the ferry crossing back to Aberdeen, you kindly allowed us to stay in our room until we left at 9:30pm. I really can't thank you enough Julie as it allowed me to relax as I was getting myself worked...

Straigona was perfect for our quick trip to the Orkney Islands. It is very close to the Kirkwall airport, so the location was an ideal base. Julie and Mike were so friendly and our room was lovely. They prepared a delicious shepherd's pie dinner for us after our tour of the islands. Our room was comfy and books and movies...

From the very first enquiry at the beginning of August, enthusiastic and welcoming information about travel, amenities, things to do convinced us a) to go to Orkney and b) to stay at Straigona for a mid-September break of six nights in the middle of a Scottish tour. Never known such attention to detail during our stay; big range of toiletries provided,...

Straigona is a wonderful B&B. Julie and Mike are great hosts and have a wonderful B&B very near the Kirkwall airport, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Mike's breakfast were wonderful and cook to order. Very accommodating for various diets. Julie was full of interesting things to see and do, which made the trip even more enjoyable....

My party booked two rooms for two nights back in July 2015.. The setting of the house is lovely in all directions. Mike and Julie are superb hosts, truly know and love Orkney. Breakfast to die for! The house and rooms are immaculate and comfortable. Nothing was too much to ask. Know that there is no "lounge" for a group...

Had a lovely stay here on my first visit to Orkney! Great location with a lovely view over a wee bay, Julie and Mike very friendly and helpful with advice and tips on what to do - and the Orkney Fudge Cheesecake was a massive hit! The Inganess room was ideal for three - myself and two kids - and...

We took my parents on a whirlwind adventure of Northern Scotland and enjoyed our two nights here. This home is immaculate and everything feels brand new. Breakfast was great and so were the home bakes kept on the side board for snacking. A couple of minor observations....The room was comfortable with the windows open, but we found most of the...

Thank you for your review and glad you all enjoyed your stay. To address the points made, I am not sure what cutsie doodads are? We do not have ornaments or knik-naks in the rooms so I'm a little confused? We do have a selection of toiletry items and magnifying mirror, extra lamp, etc as we have many guests who...
