Stayed here for a week whilst working in Shetland, and glad I did! It really does feel like a home from home. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious, and had a small fridge, which was a nice touch. The food was outstanding and all locally sourced, and the hosts couldn’t have been more helpful, organising meals around my busy work work schedule. I highly recommend this place for travellers / tourists and contractors. Really grateful for places like this, it makes such a difference!

I visited the Alder Lodge as part of a working trip to Lerwick and was impressed by the cleanliness and comfort of this cosy guest house. Hosts Alan and Diane were both friendly and helpful while supplying everything required for an easy evening after a days work. Breakfast and dinner were well cooked, tasty and served in a comfortable dining room at times to suit our work schedule. My room was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and a lovely hot and powerful shower. The Alder Lodge is located a few minutes walk from the harbour and town centre where you can enjoy a peaceful after dinner walk if weather permits. Definitely a good choice.

Excellent facilities with all MOD cons you would come to expect, but still original charm of the building remains. Diane and Alan were very accommodating hosts who made food to die for. Would thoroughly recommend.

I recently stayed here for 3 nights due to a work trip requirement in Lerwick. The Guest House is warm and welcoming, and the current proprietors, Diane and Alan are very accommodating - nothing is too much trouble. The room was very clean, warm and the bed was comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided as well as a flat screen TV, mini fridge and free high speed Wi-Fi is available. Evening meals were delicious, with a starter, main meal and sweet. Breakfast was a choice of full English or healthier options were available. I chose the full English, which was very tasty indeed. I would highly recommend Alder Lodge Guest House whether visiting Lerwick on business or pleasure!
