After an absence of many years we have lately visited the bowes incline for dinner on a few occasions now. The food is much improved with a large diverse menu on offer. Just a couple of small niggles the smoked cod dish although tasty was a little dry and over salted, and the portion sizes although good for some are...

Went on 14.4.2017 so different to previous visits Service really bad order mixed up resulting in 2 meals coming out with garden peas not mushy as requested. The next 2 meals came out 10 minutes later after having to ask for them 1 meal was as ordered the other totally wrong. Was told I'd have to wait 10 minutes for...

We stopped here for 2 nights and found the room very comfortable. It had everything you needed including spare pillows. The breakfast was excellent and catered for us fussy eaters 1 vegetarian and 1 gluten free. We ate our evening meals here too and the staff at the bar and the ladies who brought the meals were very friendly. The...

Lovely food at this pub, plenty of choices from steaks, fish, poultry, pies, sizzlers & about 6 vegetarian options, all good size meals home cooked chips. Plenty of puddings & ice creams the staff are nice too, it's a nice clean place plenty of parking, no where for kids to play though if you have any.

Stayed here last weekend - some pros and cons Pros - pub part is pleasant to sit for a drink. Staff friendly and helpful. Didn't eat here but menu looked quite good Cons - small double bed felt tiny compared to our usual king at home, the mattress was uncomfortable and the pillows like rocks so needless to say didn't...

We stayed one night after visiting Beamish Museum. The room was very comfortable and a nice bathroom. The food in the hotel was fabulous! Haven't had such a tasty meal in awhile but the portions are huge! Don't have a starter if you aren't hungry. The staff were all very helpful and very friendly. Would definitely stay again.

My husband and I stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends in Washington. What a lovely quaint place. The room was spotless with double aspect and views of the angel of the north. Plenty of complimentary refreshments, a very smart bathroom with good shower and huge white fluffy towels. I have to say that we had the best nights...

I haven't stayed at the hotel so cannot comment on the accommodation, but the meals are excellent. There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from as well as some daily specials. There surely must be something for everyone on there. The service is quick and the food is plentiful. Would definitely recommend.

We have been coming here for many years and although the menu has not changed much, the choice is so varied that it does not seem to matter and there are always "specials". Last night I had the gammon steak (which I have had before) which was excellent; not salty and perfectly cooked. The portion size of meat was so...
