Nestled into the west bank of the River Fowey, with picture-perfect views over Fowey’s estuary, this 37-room boutique hotel offers a quintessential seaside getaway. A full renovation in 2019 has added vibrant and colourful contemporary interiors throughout, inspired by Fowey’s rich history of exotic world travel. Most common rooms and bedrooms have estuary and harbour views. The newly restored hotel features a stunning wrap-around terrace, and two tiered gardens, an upper garden next to the hotel and a lower garden situated down some steps right at the water’s edge.

Just returned from a 4 night stay. I really can’t praise this hotel enough. I will start with the amazing team, what an absolute breath of fresh air nothing was too much trouble so attentive and friendly they made us feel so welcome. Our room was stunning I can honestly say I haven’t slept so well in a long time the lovely large bed was so comfortable nice clean bathroom with a shower and bath and gorgeous soft extra large towels. The dining room was really well set out. There was an excellent choice of cooked breakfast and a continental buffet with pastries, cereals and a good choice of juices. The evening meal menu is also excellent we were spoilt for choice and oh my gosh the desserts were to die for. The bar was well stocked and we enjoyed sitting on the terrace overlooking the unbelievable view of the harbour. I would recommend reserving a parking space which we did. There is a short 5-10 minute walk into town from the hotel where there are some lovely shops catering to everyone. I would give 10 stars if it was possible. Thank you all for a wonderful stay you should be very proud of yourselves

Overall great location. Good cod. Staff advised to have bread before dinner which turned out to be a 10 pound swindle for 2 tiny plates with tiny slices of bread. Skip the children's pasta too. Far too small for an average child.

Dear Wouterjanse, Many thanks for your review and your helpful comments. I am sorry you found the bread to be poor value, this is our own handmade bread which is why it is more expensive but I will review the amount we put in the baskets. The children's menu is really designed with young children in mind and many do not finish the bowls we serve, my apologies again that this was too small for your family. Thank you for your positive comments on our views and location, do please come back if you are holidaying in Cornwall again. Kind regards, Andrew Jenkins, General Manager

Really recommend getting a sea view with balcony, it’s such a beautiful view! We stayed for 4 nights and it’s a great base for visiting places nearby like the Eden Project. If driving, definitely prebook a parking space. We ate in the restaurant twice and it was good quality food and friendly service. The breakfast was very good too, especially for a non meat eater like me, lots of choice for the cooked breakfast as well as delicious bread and pastries. Only knocked a star off as there were scuffs and blotchy painted walls in the room plus some of the hotel balcony seats were very worn. That said, we’d stay again!

Dear Hilby28, Many thanks for your lovely review and I was really pleased to see you had such a good stay with us. Thank you too for the very helpful advice you have offered future guests, especially on the parking. I am glad you enjoyed the restaurant too, this is such an important part to get right and good to see we were able to look after you well. We are working our way around the rooms as we can touching up the paintwork, we have been given a lovely product so do need to make sure we look after it. I am not sure if you mean the chairs on the restaurant terrace or outside the bedrooms on the lower ground floor, if the restaurant then the good news is the new ones have arrived and it all looks very smart out there. Thank you again and we do look forward to seeing you back here soon. kind regards, Andrew Jenkins, General Manager

This was our third visit to the Harbour Hotel and it continues to be a wonderful place to stay in every regard. Rooms are bright and have exceptional views across the bay. Rooms are kept spotless by the housekeeping team and are very well appointed. What really sets the hotel apart is its staff who are universally super-friendly and helpful. Food is exceptionally good with a varied menu. The introduction of a daily specials menu is a very welcome addition and every dish we ate over the week was top notch. Thank you for a great stay. Highly recommended.

We went for a special birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. Fortunately we were able to reserve a parking spot in their restricted car park. A wise move and to be recommended. We booked the superior sea view room and was well rewarded by the extra cost. Everything you could possibly think of was provided including a card and box of chocolates for the birthday girl! Lovely luxury additions which were well appreciated. One word of warning in the shower though. When switching off hand held shower be very careful not to inadvertently turn on the waterfall shower which will dowse you with cold water as one of us found to our cost! The service was exemplary, food good but starters could do with an accompanying roll or toast. Wine was very good also. We loved watching the boats go by from our balcony and it was truly a magical experience. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to others.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a positive review. I am so glad we made the birthday celebration so special and you liked our little treats in the room! We are really lucky with our views, its hard sometimes not to get distracted with all of the boats. I appreciate your feedback regarding the starters, I will speak with out kitchen team, all of our menu's are calorie counted, so we could look at adapting our future menu's. I do hope we will welcome you back to the hotel in the near future. Kind Regards, Emily Abbott, Operations Manager.

Great room with the small details that makes you feel welcome. Helpful and service minded staff in all aspects. Only minus is lack of aircon for the really warm summer nights. Would really like to come back another time. Good tip: book parking in advance.

This is a really lovely hotel; stunning views over Fowey harbour entrance and out to sea. The staff are lovely too; nothing too much trouble and just a really nice friendly manner. The whole place has a chilled vibe. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all good; food expertly cooked, fish in particular was very good and cooked perfectly, not overdone like so many other places. Fowey quaint and interesting and some spectacular coastal walks. Would definitely come again

We stayed for 4 nights DBB at this hotel, and were looked after superbly by Andrew and his team (special mentions to Lisa and Ella for stand out service) I guess the hotel would be regarded as a 'boutique' style hotel which suits the shorter 2-3 night stays. Anything longer than that could only be enhanced by a separate residents lounge. The menu is varied and suits all requirements and there is plenty of fish which is a must given the hotel's location! A sea view room is well worth the extra as the view over the mouth of the river is just beautiful and one which you could never forget. We would be happy to return in the future.

Dear Billy S, Thank you so much for this wonderful review, I was really pleased to see you had such a good time with us here in Fowey. It is always really good to see that the team has looked after you properly and in a friendly and human way! I am glad you liked the menu, we do feel we have a good balance now with the seasonal menu and our daily changing menu. Our local fish suppliers are really good and we do get some lovely produce from them. We are working on options for a lounge but it may take us a little while longer to get this finalised. Thank you again and do come back and see us when you can. Kind regards, Andrew Jenkins, General Manager

Five of us including our two year old granddaughter recently had lunch at the hotel. Staff were very attentive and polite. The food was lovely and our granddaughter particularly enjoyed her meal from the children's menu. The view from the dining room is beautiful and we were fortunate that it was a bright sunny day. Thank you for making this meal a highlight of our holiday in Fowey.
